I had booked a one bedroom guesthouse at this "resort" expecting to spend a few fun, relaxing days with my family. We arrived in the late afternoon and as soon as we entered our room I became concerned. The smell was very musty and "old". However, we could handle that. Then we read the "rules". This was 3 or so... more

We stayed at Mystery Mountain in July. The location was very close to the Rapid City Water Slides, Bear Country, and many other attractions. Mt. Rushmore was a easy drive away, about 10 miles. The faciliities were clean and the pool was nicely kept and the hot sauna was relaxing after a day of geocaching. We tented and the tent... more

We made a reservation and when we got there it was not what we thought at all. It was dirty, I didn't want to take off my shoes, didn't want to sit on the couch. It was a well stocked house, but it totally leaned and was not soundly built. I couldn't stay there and when we explained this to... more

I loved it! We were less then 20 minutes away from just about everything. My daughter and her friend had a great time swimming, playing in the park, and playing mini golf. My husband saw a huge buck, and my daughter chased a big peacock. Right next door is Bear Country USA! more

we have been staying at mystery mountain resort for 6 or 7 years at least now, sometimes 3 or 4 times a year. Very beautiful. Doesn't matter what time of year, always peaceful and relaxing. The staff is always very friendly and helpful, no matter what comes up there is always someone willing to help. From giving directions to helping... more

My daughter got married in July and some of my family stayed at this resort. All of us would gather here the days before and after the wedding to spend some quality time. We rented a cabin and it was so clean. The owners and staff made sure that we had everything we needed and always checked to make sure... more

This was the worst campground that we have ever stayed in. The owner was rude, inconsiderate and not helpful. I was comparing between two campgrounds and he was not upfront about the questions I was asking. He said everything that I wanted to hear, so that we would stay at their location. After making the reservation, I received a card... more

This was our fifth visit to the Mystery Mountain Resort and as usual everthing was great. Even after not having been there for three years the owner greeted us by our first names when we arrived. We stayed in a two-room cabin (G-13) which was ready for us when we arrived, clean, well stocked and well cared for. The pool... more

We had a fabulous time. This resort is in a great location. No more than 40 minutes to all of the major attractions. Only 15 minutes to Mount Rushmore and right next to Bear Country USA and Reptile Gardens. There are so many lodging options here it fits everyone and every budget. Everything from tents and camper sites to multi-roomed... more
