We stayed at hillside cabin twice this summer, both times we have a great time. New up dated cabins, you can cook in them or grill out, at cabin. If you are planing a trip to black hills SD give them a call.

September 2014: I've stayed annually for a few years now and was so sad to see the "improvements" made recently. The units and customer service do not meet the price payed. The cabins now have cheaper "more rustic" doors that do not close unless locked/latched shut...which makes it difficult when you are sharing a room with someone and literally have... More

Maam, honestly after a few days of trying to figure out why someone would web attack our business via this site, Trip Advisor, and who knows how many others, we felt that at least here we should respond. Same old rustic doors, not new, not cheaper, but nothing simpler than "slide knob to latch". I may post a sign to... More

Spent 5 nights here over the summer with my family of 6. Price, location and cabin were excellent. Only a few minutes from Keystone & Rushmore. Would recommend if you are looking for a decent place as a launch pad for your daily trips. Had the opportunity to tour the largest cabin and it was incredible.

My wife and kids and I happened along these awesome cabins in a hill while exploring south dakota. They were perfect for us since they are very near to almost all the attractions we wanted to see.they have trails and rock formations right on site witch was great since my daughter's love to explore and climb. The staff was excellent... More

My friends and I found this place while walking across the country on The Great American Walkabout. We had just visited Mount Rushmore and were headed into Rapid City, and this was the perfect place to stop. We REALLY loved it! The cabins were cozy and comfortable, and each had full amenities. The Black Hills are an incredible place, full... More

I first visited this property when I was 2 years old and this year marks my 57th year of consistent stays (some years up to 3 stops, and only missed going to the Black Hills 2 years during this time). I've lived in Colorado and now Washington State over the past forty years-but always make at least one annual trip... More

We enjoyed having a cabin to ourselves rather than a typical hotel. It allowed our group of 6 (age 12-70) to stay in the same place on our family vacation. It was nice being able to cook breakfast while everyone showered and got ready for the day. The hotel is right off the highway (and easy to miss the turn... More

We stayed in the Duck's Unlimited cabin and it was perfect for our 2 families (5 adults and 2 toddlers). The cabin was clean and the staff was very helpful and accommodating do to the fact of arriving late. The entrance was difficult to see from the road but we didn't really hear any road noise where we were at... More

This was our third stay at Hillside Cabins. We were 100% satisfied with the amenities, it's staff and location. Very family oriented with a genuine personal touch. We've stayed in a different cabin each time and never been disappointed. The owners work hard to make sure your visit is comfortable & enjoyable. They took my wife and I on a... More

My hubby and I stayed here for our 30th wedding anniversary. The cabin was fine but the bed was up against a wall so my husband had a hard time getting out of bed.Thevery owner was not overly friendly.Overall it's a nice place to stay but loud traffic noise.
