The hotel is very well situated, a few minutes away from walking( of the city center and near the path of the sculptures of the American presidents. The room is endowed with the usual equipments (microwave, refrigerator). The bed is comfortable and the bathroom is clean. During our passage in summer, the swimming pool was the most appreciated). Finally, the... More

While camping from Toronto to Calgary through the US this September, we decided a couple of nights in a hotel would be a nice treat. We wanted to visited Mount Rushmore. This hotel charged us under $50 per night so we stayed for two. Perfect. Only a few bucks more than the local campground. We had decent TV, free wifi,... More

Well... where to start? We followed the recommendation on TripAdvisor but what the hell! This place is a dump! The first room smelled very musty and when we entered the bathroom we learned why. So we asked for a different room. It seemed slightly better at first but had some molds in the bathroom anyway. The entire place needs housekeeping... More

We enjoyed our stay here. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was fine. We were able to walk downtown (about 4 or 5 blocks) which is very nice. There is an antique mall, art galleries, several good restaurants (ate at Firehouse Restaurant) and the old Alex Johnson Hotel is worth visiting if you are interested in classic... More

I would not recommand this place at all. Got a very "fresh" welcome. The lady at the desk did not know nothing about my coming and my rate. Had to wait for the longest time until she found out I was right. The room was not clean at all. There were hair on the toilet rim and in the bathtub.... More

Staff was very friendly & helpful. Our room was clean and cool. The beds were comfortable. The continental breakfast had a nice variety & was always fresh and stocked. There was no coffee maker or hair dryer in our room but coffee & juices were always available in the office. We will definitely choose this place to stay if we... More

We ended up here on our way back from San Francisco (scenic route). For the area and the time of year it was well priced. ~$100 for a double. The room was clean and comfortable. Check in was a breeze and we had directions to Rushmore before we even completed checking in. We got the last room that they had.... More

Very friendly staff, but an old place that sits quite a long way into town. It shows a lot of wear and tear, but surprisingly had comfortable beds. During our stay it was grossly over priced (and was fully booked for the next 7 weeks), but, after all, it was August at the edge of the Black Hills, Mt. Rushmore,... More

We stayed for one night, 2 families with young children. As for other reviewers, hotels.com messed up our reservation (they gave me 2 single rooms, stating they could each sleep 4 - not true). The lady at check-in was very friendly and in just minutes upgraded us to 2 double rooms, that could accommodate all of us, at the same... More
