We staying in the hotel portion of the property. Our room was beautiful, clean and well equipped. The price was perfect and the staff was more than helpful. They even helped us to find great out of the way restaurants that rocked!

Beautiful quiet, setting on the lake. Enjoyed ducks and geese, paddle boat ride, and a magnificient sunrise over the lake from our room. The rooms are older, but clean. One complaint would be older mattresses that were not too comfy. Staff friendly and helpful. Beautiful park with great walking paths right by motel.

We were lax in getting reservations in for the "wedding" weekend. They helped us find a place to stay for the night before & got us into a room at their facility by 9:00am the next morning! Right in the heart of Rapid City ~ It is a beautiful, relaxing site on a small lake with lots of wildlife. They... More

We stayed here in June 2010 and can't say enough good things about this place ....The place was very clean and very well run . There was lots for the kids to do such as swimming, paddleboating, and fishing(caught lots)...Everynight we sat around a fire with people from the resort and had a blast ...There was even a wine tasting night(awesome wine... I with 24 other Old Fart Riders of Hanson, MA. went to the 2010 Sturgis Rally in South Dakota. We had a fantastic time. One of the reasons why is our stay at Canyon lake Resort. They were wonderful. Lynn, Tina, Lori and Suzana went out of their way to make us feel at home. I know at times we... More

Had a week in one of the 2 bedroom cabins . The setting is perfect for seeing the Blackhills then relaxing in the evening . the staff on site were on hand to answer our questions and offer advice when asked . so if you are in the hills I would recommend you stay there.

We booked this motel for 6 nights to explore the black hills attractions. We selected it because we wanted a place to relax and swim in the afternoons after sightseeing. When my son (9 years old) saw the pool he was very disappointed - he was on the verge of tears - it was the tiniest pool we ever saw!.... More

The small, 2 person cabin we stayed in was adequately sized and clean but very, very outdated. The room air conditioner was falling apart and held together by duct tape. The entire cabin had kind of a weird, musty smell, and the furnishings were straight out of the '70's. The mattress I slept on was very old and soft. The... More

We enjoyed our stay at Canyon Lake. The rooms had a comfortable, homey feel with all the amenities to make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. The staff was friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed the free paddle boat rides and campfire. Ask the management about their family-owned winery and take a bottle home as a souvenir of your stay. Yum!
