We first stayed at this KOA in 2013. It was one our first experiences and we found it to be quite good. Two years later, passing through the same area, we thought we'd give it another try. Still quite nice. The bathrooms and showers are some of the best we've seen (2 years in to this adventure) and the staff... More

Pros: Very nice heated pool, baby pool, and hot tub (though it doesn't open until 9:30). Great hot breakfast at reasonable prices. Nice store, very clean bathrooms and showers. Good playground. Lots of staff. Cons: Non premium sites are packed together in open area with no trees. This is literally the smallest campsite I've ever had. Kids can't even really... More

We stayed for four nights here and were quite happy with what this KOA offered. It's close enough to Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse and Custer State park but far enough off highway 90 to be quiet. We went to the ice cream social, did laundry and used the showers. Showers and restrooms were very clean and well tended. Our... More

Stopped in crossing the country. Cabin was clean and comfortable. Restrooms were in almost pristine condition for as busy as this KOA seems to be. Ice cream social the night we were there. Will definitely use this stop again if necessary.

We had just left the Hot Springs KOA so we arrived at this KOA very early (9 am) We wanted to rent a car and get one last day of exploring the Black Hills in. The staff worked very hard at finding us an open site that we could immediately get in to, and they quickly cleaned the rental car... More

Quick and efficient check-in. Escorted to site. Had a full hook-up “premium” site with a not very level gravel parking pad. Needed blocking to keep weight on the under the front tires. The premium and deluxe sites were roomy, but most of the regular sites were pretty tight. Well maintained with lots of trees and grass. Well of the main... More

First the good: breakfast rocked. Staff is super nice. Pool area is gorgeous. Store is cute. Decent showers and facilities. Nice laundry. The bad: the sites are so cramped and small they paint lines in the grass to prevent disputes. But I will say small sites seem to be the trend in the black hills. I imagine they've got to... More

We stopped at the Koa for an overnight stay. Our site was level and the park was clean. They had a great off leash area for our dog and a pancake breakfast option. The wifi was the best we had so far. They had a large play area for kids. There was road noise but I guess that is the... More

On the positive side, we arrived after office hours and they had left our site number for us outside office. The showers and bathrooms were clean considering the over crowded condition of this site. Otherwise there is nothing about this KOA to commend itself. We have been in 8 campgrounds in past 2 wks travelling across country (including KOA) and... More

KOA Kamper Kabins are great for families trying to stay in the area on a budget but don't want the bother of a tent. Our cabin had a full sized bunk and 3 twin sized bunks and air conditioning which was very welcome after the heat of the badlands. The bathroom and shower facilities were clean and really nice, the... More
