Waited too long to make motel reservations for our trip to Mitchell SD for a reunion. I went online two months ahead of our planned trip, but that was too late to secure a reservation at a chain motel. No vacancy due to actives in Mitchell during the weekend of July 25! So I called the Coachlight, and much to my... More

Great motel. Owner was very helpful with making restaurant recommendations and driving directions to place we wanted to visit. Room was large and comfortable. Even though this motel is right on the Main Street it was very quiet. Would definitely go back.

We stayed at the Coachlight Motel on the last night of a long trip to some western national parks. We enjoy motels a lot as we're never looking for fancy, just a clean and quiet place to rest before hitting the road in the morning. We paid just over $60 with taxes for the room and they had vacancy when... More

Based on good reviews and a more than reasonable price we booked a night at Coachlight Motel on our way out the Black Hills. We were not disappointed - the room was absolutely clean and although not fancy, for a quick overnight, it was perfect. The price cannot be beat, it's proximity to the freeway (90) as well as some... If you only need cleanliness, comfort and a great price then this is the place for you! The beds were comfortable, the pillows were nice and the bathroom was clean. The carpeting was also clean. Coffee and donuts for breakfast is just fine.

If you want a fancy motel with room service and fancy linens...don't stay here. But if you want a clean place to rest your head that's also economical it's GREAT! The rooms are good size and very clean. The staff is very friendly. There is no continental breakfast but there are homemade cookies, donuts and coffee! We really enjoyed our... More

Stayed in this motel back in the 70s on a family road trip. Not much has changed! Yet for $54 per night and a place to rest your head it is perfect. We had requested two rooms and both were ready; right next to each other; and clean. The mattresses were good and the air conditioning system was fabulous! Yes... More

Stayed here while passing through South Dakota in May, 2014. My daughter and I were very pleased with the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms and the value was exceptional at around $50 for two queen beds. It is simple; nothing fancy. If you want fancy, you should be willing to pay at least 3x this much. Property is located... More

I was very pleased with the cleanliness of the Coachlight Motel. My room was spotless and very large. The owner was friendly and helpful and makes a great cup of coffee! I would certainly stay here again and would recommend the Coachlight with confidence.

Coming from eastern WI en route to the Badlands, Mitchell is an overnight stop for us. The Coachlight Motel offers great value. It is conveniently located. Most importantly, it is family run business. The hosts have always (we make repeated trips out West) provided a clean, well cared for room at a good price. Recommended.
