The Lodge is so warm and inviting. Its like having your own cabin in the hills, without having to do laundry and cooking. The best part is sitting around the fire, kicking back and relaxing.

Have stayed at the lodge many times great place wonderful staff and mangement. Reading these two reviews I see folks that must not travel or go places much?? Who goes to any sporting event or concert and does not wait in line for a bathroom are you serious!!! And where do you check in at 11am? You can always find...

I enjoyed an event that was held at the lodge. Music and drinks. Everything was "OK", but I can't say that it was anything special. The performance was great, but that had little to do with what the lodge itself did. They had only one public bathroom available and since an evening of booze had been flowing that wasn't adequate....

Let me just say how disappointed my Husband and I were with the level of Customer Service extended to us by the Management for our Daughter Vivian Shepherd’s Wedding. Having booked our event 8 months in advance, and as you required a copy of the wedding invitation along with your rather detailed questionnaire, you should have realized that as the...

The staff at both the hotel and the resturant across the street were horrible. We have never felt so unwelcome in a hotel. We reserved two nights at the lodge but left after one. The room was dirty. Their was used robes still in the bathroom with we checked in. The front desk did not seem to think this was...

We stayed at the Spearfish Canyon Lodge for two nights on a recent trip. We picked it because of its location at the head of Spearfish Canyon. The "lodge" is really a motel; the rooms were clean and functional but the place lacked personality. The overall rating of "3" given by other travelers is consistent with our experience. We also...

We drive up to the lodge frequently, alone and with guests to enjoy a cocktail and scenery, but today was our worst experience ever. Almost always we have to find someone (usually they just have one person working to do everything) and today was no different. She (dont know her name) was in the office working, my husband got her...

Good (only) place to stay in the Canyon. Nice staff, clean rooms, dependable year after year.

We spent two nights here with four of us in the Roosevelt suite. This is a great suite, bed, sofabed, balcony and kitchen. The only problem with the room us that the balcony is above the outdoor pub where people smoke. Naturally the smoke was a problem when people were there. The other issue was we got there thirty minutes...

After reading numerous reviews about this lodge and speaking to a few locals, I still thought there may be a chance things might be different.
My fiancee and I are planning to elope and wanted to book with the lodge. Upon hearing that photography WAS NOT allowed within the lodge ( beautiful lobby area), I didn't want to believe this....
