Visiting the Pine Ridge indian reservation, you can choose between two motels. At the east side the Casino motel near Oglala and the Lakota Prairie Ranch Resort close to Kyle, the Northwest side of the rez. I would suggest to go to the last one. I already stayed there many years ago and I liked it so much that I... More

We stopped in for dinner, it was delicious! We had the nightly special of grilled fish, a fresh green salad and a baked potato. The staff was so friendly. We were very impressed and decided this is where will stay when we return!

If you are visiting the Pine Ridge Reservation, this is the place to stay. You have your choice between a room, a bunkhouse, or several cabins. I stayed in a cabin and loved it! It was very clean, lots of towels, and close to the restaurant.(on site) Everyone that I came in contact with that worked there were very friendly... More

Avoid the cabins. They are "rustic". Rooms close to the lodge are much nicer. A quiet place with guinea fowl and a windmill in the back. A very important resource to the reservation that deserves support. But don't expect everything that you would find with an in-town hotel. An attraction that may be overlooked: walk up to the Oglalla Lakota... More

Stayed there two days in September with my daughter. Room was quite large though a little worn, but did fit in with the rustic surroundings of the Reservation. Food was very good and reasonable at the little restuarant on premises, had a nice gift shop also. Wonderful little coffee shop on premises operated by Patricia and Jason, spent many hours... More

I just returned from a 5 day service trip to Pine Ridge reservation and spent our time at this beautiful place. Rooms are a bit worn but very comfortable and large. Beds were comfortable. Small refrig and microwave to accomodate our snacks was great on a multi day stay. One of our group had a room with a kitchenette which... More

If you're planning to visit Wounded Knee, this is an excellent place to stay. Kyle is located centrally on the reservation, and the hotel is several miles west, near the Oglalla Technical College. The property is nothing special--old motor lodge--but the owners are attentive and appreciative. The motel has an integral restaurant. Lots of the people eating there are locals,... More

Drawers & cupboards were dirty. I had to move furniture to plug in cell, laptop & it was pretty gross under, behind furniture. Staff was pleasant enough. I couldn't get cell service in the room, but internet was okay.

The Lakota Prairie rooms were clean, and our shower worked fine. The basic thing I found problematic was that only one light switch controlled the sink area and bath/toilet areas. So if you get up in the middle of the night, you end up turning on more light than you'd like to. The staff was friendly, and the food was... More

We stayed here one night while visiting Wounded Knee and am glad we did. Rooms are clean and nice. Restaurant serves good food at cheap prices and the staff was helpful. It was very hot but the AC seemed to keep up well. It's a little rugged (dirt parking lot ect..) but it blends into the surroundings quite well. Pine... More
