-lots of activities as others have stated. - lots of staff for check-in and help, store has everything needed -clean, enough shade, enough clean showers, location could improve: prices, you pay for convenience, and each morning at 7 a worker rode by yelping by the sites with the horses for a wake up call even if you don't want it-... Fabulous for families! Pools, splash pads, trail rides, mini golf, movie nights, hay rides, pancake breakfasts...the list is endless!! I got a latte in the coffee shop in the morning and bottles of wine at the wine shop at night! Very clean, helpful employees, etc. My only recommendation for this koa is that their onsite restaurant doesn't measure up to... More

We stayed at the Mount Rushmore KOA with our three children ages 8-10yrs. There is a lot for the kids to do here. The horse stables were fantastic - really enjoyed the Elk Creek ride. There was a big bouncy thing - don't know what to call it, that the kids loved. The kids said the pool was a bit... More

This KOA offers so much from activities to accommodations (RVing, camping, camp houses, hotels, to big houses. It is six miles from Mt Rushmore and in the evening they have a bus operating back and forth to Mt Rushmore for the night presentation. Check this place out.

I cannot say enough good things about the Mount Rushmore KOA. We went during Sturgis and had a wonderful time. Even though we are not bikers, we could appreciate all the beautiful bikes and their owners who would proudly tell us about their bikes. The first day we arrived was to be our KOA day. Our girls ages 7 and... More

We enjoyed our stay here. Horse stables, coffee shop, wine shop with tastings, pizza, ice cream, pub, pool, kids fountain, basketball, playgrounds, jumping pillow, waterslide, restaurant and all you can eat pancake breakfast! The staff was very friendly! Only downside is no internet and very limited cell service. But would recommend if you are coming to the area with children.... More

Great campground with lots of things to do. We loved all the activities they provided, campground close to town and Mt. Rushmore .Atv rentals were great! We had a flat tire and they were up on the trail fixing it in less then 20 minutes. Would recommend this campground to anybody. The only bad thing was the restaurant "ponderosa" they... More

We went to this campground based on a previous visit a few years ago. This was our second and last visit. The only good thing I have to say is this campground is clean. We had a pull through site. The site size was not terrible, our awning wasn't touching the neighbor's and we had room for a fire pit.... More

Stayed two nights with our three kids. Lots of activities for them to do within the campground and we didn't have enough time to do everything. Centrally located to Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and surrounding towns Hill City and Keystone. If you are into horses, give the horse-back rides at Palmer Gulch stables (on property) a go. The staff is... More

We booked a tent site and were forced to share our site with a guy with a pickup truck, towable RV, and boat trailer. There was no space for my car and had to park several hundred yards away. Other party drank, smoke and partied all night less than 10 feet from our tent. No sleep. Staff refused to enforce... More
