We are in the process of staying here right now. We are given a room underground (I jokingly said, 'oh, my Dad will be happy'), and a code for the Internet. Get into our room and cannot connect to the Internet on any of our devices (I have an iPhone and an iPad and husband has an android phone). When... More

My girlfriend and I stayed and this was a great central location for all the attractions. The owner was super attentive and was genuinely concerned that we enjoyed ourselves. It was very clean and we made use of the kitchenette and grill. Only complaints is that the breakfast is the same everyday, the towels smelled like mildew, and you can... More

It was a perfect place for my husband and I to relax, enjoy the sights in the area and meet up with other family members who wound up staying here too. The lodge was a perfect size and the trusting hospitality of Chad and his wife were such a blessing. I would like to be able to go back and... More

The lodge was clean and pleasant. The employees were polite, friendly and helpful. There were so many things to do in the area that we extended out stay! I would love to make this a yearly getaway! It is "mountain view" as advertised. An awesome retreat within a short distance from many sights including Mount Rushmore.

We stayed in a family room with two queen and one twin bed. It was nowhere near as spacious as the pictures made it appear. With three adults we were quite cramped, so a family would have a hard time. There was a small fridge with a microwave sitting on top, which was fine. The TV was on the wall... More

My husband and his lifelong buddy and of course the wives, came to the Black Hills for the Annual Buffalo Round-up. We were lucky to even get a cabin for that weekend! We were so pleased with the location, view and amenities. Yes, it was close quarters, probably not meant to house 2 couples in the Small Cabin, but we... More

We stayed 2 nights (October 17-18, 2014) at Mountain View Lodge & Cabins in Hill City. The location was terrific as we planned to go to Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and Jewel Cave, and we didn't want to "commute" to Rapid City--we really wanted to stay in the Black Hills! Check-in on the "house phone" was a breeze, our room... More

This is the place you wish to choose if you are with family. The owners maintained the ameneties very well and definitely tried their best to make it nice at a reasonable price. I defintely wish to stay if I visit Mount Rushmore again and recommend to stay there without any reservations. Couple of suggestions I wish to make to... More

Great views--lodge room neat clean and had the amenities they stated. Never saw the owner/manager till we were ready to leave after a 2 night stay. Breakfast was a bit light but ok,. Good coffee. No ice machine but $2.00 if you can get the Mgr(could not get in touch with him). No phone in room. Had WIFI if you... More

I think my experience was really four stars, but my parents and sister didn't have their rooms cleaned over the five day period, so they weren't quite as happy. The owner said to let them know if we wanted the room cleaned, otherwise we could just bring towels down and swap them for fresh ones. However, apparently my family in... More
