We stayed at the lodge in Aug. 2013. Like everyone notes great location and lots of fun things to do with the kids. Outside of that it goes downhill. 1) They have a management problem! The service was bad and on top of that I called and email when I got home and the management could not respond. Expect! No... More

Although a lot of amenities were done for the season, we did enjoy the Lodge at Palmer's Gulch. It was clean and very accommondating. Stayed there from Sept 9 - Sept 13. The location couldn't be better. It was located just about in the middle of all of our planned day trips.

We stayed at the Lodge at Palmer Gulch for two nights while visiting Mt. Rushmore and Custer State Park. It is in an ideal location for this - just down the mountain from Mt. Rushmore. It is located in a KOA campground and had a restaurant and a few stores on the premises. However, we did not use these facilities... More

My family was here for 6 days, Great loction to all you come to see. Wonderful acitivites at camp for kids big and small. Clean, friendly. Not great Wi-fi but YOUR ON VACATION!!! Heard about green pools, but they were fine just the pool walls are slighly stained. Resturant was a little pricey, but local snack shops and wine tasting... More

We rented cabin 19 for our extended family of 10. The cabin is dark, they should paint or replace paneling. But overall the facility was good. We had 5 kids under the age of 11, so much for them to do. It was labor day weekend so it was very busy, but still very peaceful and relaxing. All staff encountered... More

You need to understand what the Lodge at Palmer Gulch is. It's a lodge that sits on a campground property. It's not as updated as a modern hotel, but the rooms are decent and it offers a family the opportunity to take advantage of the Palmer Gulch activities without having to camp. The campground is a KOA with 2 pools,... More

We stayed two nights in August and the location was perfect for all of the local attractions. Plenty to keep the kids busy and would recommend the chuckwagon dinner they run out of their location. We stayed in Cabin 19. Plenty of room, but definitely rustic. Slight musty smell throughout the cabin. Did not bother us for our stay though.

We stayed in the lodge for one night after visiting Crazy Horse and Mt. Rushmore, it was a great location for these trips. The lodge was nice and the restaurant was very good for lunch. We didn't have a chance to use the pool or slide due to a very bad thunderstorm that washed a lot of dirt and stone... More

I stayed at the Lodge in August of 2013. The room was always cleaned and made up. In the morning there was coffee and rolls/bagels. It is right down the road from Mt. Rushmore, close to Crazy Horse. The onsite restaurant, The Pondorosa, has great comfort food. I loved the Buffalo meatloaf. The Pub was a great place to relax... More

We have stayed at the Lodge at Palmer Gulch twice. In August 2012 and just last week. We love the location of his resort. Close to many local attractions. Rooms: Last year we stayed in Presidential Suite. It was a nice room with a fireplace, couch, a small kitchen area. The rooms are ends of the building. They do not have... More
