The rooms were wonderfully done in dark wood. The wall coverings were beautiful. Room was put together in excellent taste. Even the towels on the racks were folded in shell shapes. This was the best hotel room that we had on our vacation. It was also reasonably priced. Within walking distance of everthing. more

My husband & I stayed two nights in Room 302. We had no expectations really beforehand, so the funky old hotel sort of fit in with what we'd read about Deadwood in general. It felt like a typical British guesthouse - a bit run-down but with some character. And of course, you had to pay extra for breakfast - but... more

We arrived and had a smooth check in contemplating a reserved two night stay. We dropped our luggage in room 201 and quickly headed off to meet friends staying nearby. We returned to our room about 10 pm and noticed 1) draperies covered with dust 2) bathroom vent fan had not been cleaned in months 3) hair in the bathroom... more

We went here to eat and it was the worst mistake we made on our entire trip. They specialize in bar b q I was assuming. When we came into the restaurant it took forever for a waitress to come to us. She brought our drinks and a menu and several minutes later after horseing around with the other staff... more

The building that this hotel is in was built in 1893. It definitely has the old west feel/look about it. I enjoyed staying here because of this reason. We had a corner room and could see the old depot where all the motorcylces were parked and part of the main road. We were in town around the Sturgis Rally time... more

We stayed here for one night, Room 204. It was pretty basic. The room was decorated nicely but the lighting was bad. The ceiling was very high and there was a ceiling fan, which I did like. The restaurant closes early and nothing really delivers. There is a pub in the basement of the hotel which made excellent pizza! That... more

On our first visit to Deadwood, the Iron Horse Inn provided my daughter and I with the perfect experience. We enjoyed a trouble-free reservation and check in, the staff was wonderful, and the room and corridors were like stepping back in time. My girl was even inspired to quick-draw her (plastic) six-shooter for an impromptu/ imaginary showdown in the hallway.... more

We (my wife and I and a friend) found the Inn to be perfect for Deadwood. At first, I found the room dated (which it was), but realized it was "Deadwood" dated. Nothing fancy. We found the high ceilings interesting and representative of a building of that age. The dining room in the small lobby was also no frills, but... more

I booked two rooms at the Iron Horse Inn after reading up on all the hotels in Deadwood. The booking over the phone was simple and the hotel was a great place to stay. The staff were very friendly from the moment we checked in to the time we checked out. The Iron Horse Inn is not a five star... more
