This hotel is located right downtown and across the street from Adams Museum. The interior is decorated very nicely. The rooms are A bit old and the beds and pillows are just okay. The rooms and bathrooms are a bit dirty. They could use a really good cleaning and dusting. When you turn on the air conditioner the ceiling fan... More

Thank you for being our guest. I think that your summary of our historic hotel is accurate: "nice hotel, great location, great price." Our rooms vary in size as the building was constructed in 1896 as a feed store for agriculture, then converted to it's present hotel use in the late 1990's. Please remember that on your next trip that... More

The room was very small. Very small. But when you're in Deadwood you don't spend a lot of time in your hotel room anyway. The building is old and it shows but that also adds a little charm. Cleanliness was not an issue at all. The staff were all great. The price was very good in comparison to other hotels... More

Thank you for being our guest. I agree that our staff is "top shelf," and that we offer a clean, comfortable room for an inexpensive price in downtown Deadwood. Our rooms vary in size, but this time of year we could have offered you a larger one for the same reasonable cost. We will do that on your next stay!... More

The Iron Horse is a lovely and updated old stone building right in the heart of Deadwood. It is located to make walking to everything very easy. Parking is free for guests. There is a small bar and restaurant downstairs in the attached casino.

Thank you for being our guest, and for your kind words. You stayed in corner room 201, and it is also my favorite! Our building was constructed in 1896 from sandstone taken from the local Whitewood quarry. With a great deal of effort and love, we try to keep the "old girl" in good order for our guests. I am... My friends and I were in town for Deadweird and just needed a place to sleep for the night, and this hotel delivered on that. The location is great; it was nice to be close to downtown, but not right in the thick of it. The people at the front desk were friendly. I don't really have much to say... More

Thank you for being our guest! Many of our guests share your fondness of our location. We are right downtown close to most of the attractions, yet a block away from Main Street that allows for a quiet, peaceful sleep. Our rooms vary in size, so next time we can probably check you into a larger one. Our pricing is... More

As a repeat customer, my husband and I have really enjoy our three stays at this quaint and comfortable older hotel. Along with friendly hotel front desk staff, we like that the proprietors have a presence around the hotel and are super responsive to requests like another blanket. The hotel is only two to three short blocks away from restaurants... More

Thank you for being our repeat guest, and your kind words. Managing any small business requires the owners be on site very frequently to succeed. Our operations size of 19 historic rooms allow my wife and I to get to personally know many of our guests like you. The recent addition of a "full liquor" license adds variety to our... More

If you are looking for a reasonably priced accommodations that may have some minor issues which in our opinion were (no coffee pot in room, the carpet is not spanking brand new but clean) look here. There were nice fluffy towels, historical atmosphere that brings you back to the times of the wild west, it was quiet, except for the... More

I am glad you really enjoyed your stay with us, and for being our guest. Our location is premier, a short walk to most of Deadwood's attractions, yet generally a quiet place during the night time hours. While we offer complimentary coffee in the lobby each morning, we can arrange a coffee pot for any room upon request. We will... More

This is a great historic property in the center of Deadwood. Park you car and walk to all the attractions or take the trolley. Thank you for being our guest. Our location is such that you can easily walk to most of the "must see" locations in town. The city trolley ride is just $1 and can take guests to the outlying regions of Deadwood. Sorry about the check-in mix up, but I am glad that it was solved to your satisfaction, and that... More

Our recent stay at the Iron Horse Inn/ Martin Mason Hotel was a wonderful experience! Thank you for your kind words. While we don't always do everything right, we feel our customer service is very good. TFurther, things seem to go much more smoothly in a small hotel when the owners are on the property frequently. And we can't mess up our location! We enjoyed hosting your group and hope to see you again soon. More

Stayed at the Iron Horse Inn in Deadwood, and did some motorcycling around the area. What a excellent place to stay. Rooms were clean, staff was incredible. If you are there you must eat at the diner by the lobby, ask for Tammy the waitress, she is so much fun, and does a super job! Close to all the downtown... More

Thank you for your kind words, and for being our guest. Our central location and clean, comfortable rooms are always important to our guests. Tami is truly the feature of the adjacent restaurant, she really keeps things lively around here. But as I always need to caution "thin skinned" customers: her sensitivity training did not "take" the first time around!... More
