arrived on a bus tour of mostly senior citizens. one small very slow elevator which we all had to use to get to our rooms. upon entering the room it was small, old furniture, a lacey torn curtain on a dirty window, with a window air conditioner that only worked on high. fortunately it was not hot so I just... 10 years ago was a different experience at this hotel. They had an OLD elevator that has since been removed, and had a pianist playing at breakfast who is no longer there (incidentally the same pianist play during the summer months at 1880's town on tuesdays and wednesdays). The main and lower levels have been remodeled, and they are nice.... More

I stayed in the Silverado/Franklin hotel and enjoyed it. There was even an old claw-foot tub with a shower added to it! The room was fine-and you really had the sense that you had stepped through time and that Jesse James could easily be in the next room. I really like the casino (its the only one in Deadwood with... We have stayed here 4 times now. The first time we stayed in the actual hotel. The room was cozy and clean. The last 3 times we have stayed in the Motor Lodge. We love it! The rooms are spacious and clean. We like that there is outdoor access to the room. It's very easy to stop in and drop... More

We stayed here a year ago and had a good enough experience to come back. We got a larger room than last year and it was worth the $$ for the extra space. The historic charm is hard to beat!! Like I said before, if you are expecting the Holiday Inn or the like, you probably won't like it here.......but... More

My mom and I stayed for 3 nights at the Franklin Hotel. We were impressed by the history which you can see when you walk through the halls. For being an old building, it is quite quiet. We never really heard our neighbors or anyone out in the hall. We enjoyed the casino in the lobby. The staff was very... More

This is a very well cared for historic property in Deadwood South Dakota. The rooms are restored to period decor with modern amenities. The front of hotel rooms overlook Deadwood's Main street and there is often some event going on that affords a great overview of the action.=

If I was able to give 0 stars I would. The manager at the hotel is horrible, and I'm not sure why he is still working there. He booted my husbands car for no reason. I personally think it was to act all powerful. It was a Thursday night and no one else was parked in their parking lot. My... More

This is one of the best Casino in Historic Deadwood SD. It is located at the South end of main street. If there is any concert going on across the street at the Deadwood Grand parking is a little hard to find.
