Been staying for years and now no longer will be. The new management not as nice and do not know alot of information. Also it no longer feels like home away from home. No breakfast anymore either which to me was a very bad decision on their part.

We are sorry you won't be staying with us. We are reviewing what we will be doing for breakfast. We just didn't feel bread and waffles should be considered breakfast. As far as being knowledgeable, we are new to the area but are learning as much as we can about this beautiful little town and the Black Hills area!! We... More

We have stayed at Thunder Cove for about 20 years & have always had good experiences. We loved Dennis & Paula & after staying there for so many years they felt like family. It is under new management & the new managers are very friendly & helpful. They no longer have breakfast but still have tea & coffee. We will... More

Háve stayed at Thunder Cove for many years. Always a pleasant stay ,clean rooms and reasonably price,. The management is always friendly and very helpful. The trolley stops right at the front so you do not have find parking in Deadwood.

We have stayed here before and we are back because you get a great room for the price. It's very quiet and clean. Off from the downtown area but on the trolley route. The managers are very friendly and helpful.

The room was nice, clean and spacious. The manager was very nice and helpful. The lobby was homely and welcoming, and the rates were very reasonable. We really enjoyed our stay here. I would recommend it anybody going to Deadwood.

Stayed here during bike week. Room was clean and the price was right. The owner is very helpful and caring. Even had rags and soap to wash your bike. Nothing fancy, but nice place to stay. Trolly stops right out front.

Stopped here on our way to Mount Rushmore. Drove through Deadwood and were very disappointed to see how commercialised it was. And expensive! Luckily we came across this lovely motel as we were driving out of town. The owner is very helpful and a true hostess. It is extremely cheap and includes breakfast. Nothing is too much trouble and the... More

Okay, I admit it, we drove past this hotel at first because the outside seemed shady to me. But after stopping at the Super 8, over $100 a night, and then another we were told by a very considerate front desk clerk that this hotel had no casino, so their prices would be more what we could afford. We went... More

A super nice, clean and considerate place to stay, I have been there on Several occasions, and the service and room quality is always GREAT. No Surproses, and VERY good prices. It is NON chain Motel, and I try to support local business people whenever I can. Corporations are ruining the Nation. You Cant go wrong with Thunder Cove.

We found this place as we were looking for a quint B and B. It's not, but the owner Paula was very nice and helpful. We had a refrigerator in our room so we were able to transfer our cooler there, very nice. The room was sparse, and the bed comfortable. We took the trolley from the front door (... More
