Stayed here 6 nights while touring the Black Hills on a motorcycle trip at the end of June 2014. 5 of us rolled into Deadwood with no reservations and no idea where to stay. Although this place is at the end of Main St it's close enough to walk downtown for supper, drinks, whatever. The rooms were clean, dry, and... More

We were in Deadwood for wedding. The checkin was quick and easy. That is the good thing. We got put in room with curtains that had holes. The curtains also did not hang in window as there weren't enough books for them. On the table when we walked in were 2 ashtrays. One with a cigarette butt and the other... More

We stayed here the week before the rally in Sturgis and found out that bikers are charged $175 per night while we were charged only $60 per night for the same rooms. NOT FAIR. Room was okay, clean, staff friendly, good breakfast in café.

Stayed here on a recommendation from someone. Wished we had stayed closer to the Black Hills after we had booked into this place... found better motels at lower rates. The staff here was friendly, the room was clean but very small. the WiFi was worthless. (had to take our devices outside on the balcony to get any reception at all)... More

We stayed at the Gold Country Inn on a weekend in June, most hotels on or near main street were $300-150. I paid $65 for my room. It is walking distance to main street, the room was clean but small, and my bed was a bit soft. The motel was full and had warm water at best for showers in... More

We go to Deadwood 4 to 5 times a year. Usually stay at DMG or Lodge or Celebrity, love all 3. This time was Labor Day weekend so prices were 3x what we paid for Gold Country. While certainly the other places are nicer, this was adequate. The room was large. 2 queen beds. Old tv on wall and old... More

We had intended to stay a couple days in Deadwood but the reception at this place was extremely unwelcoming. As it was late in the evening we decided to cut our losses and stay for 1 night only. I almost had to drag the wifi password out of her. The connection itself was terrible and a waste of time. The... More

Gold Country Inn is by no means an upscale hotel. The rooms, bedding, and bathroom were old but the place was very clean. The service was friendly. The breakfast in the restaurant was cheap and good. I would stay there again if I was on a budget.

Stayed during the Deadwood Jam. Clean, no frills place to stay. Like the fact of no caked dirt in the corners or paint slopped on fixtures and towel racks. Details like this tell a lot. Yes, the carpet and bedspreads and light fixtures are dated. If the room and bedding is clean and the bed is comfortable and the price... More

This place was a dump. This is the first time the reviews I've read in TripAdvisor failed me. The room had 2 beds - both were sagging and lumpy; I could feel the springs! It was old, ratty, with terrible lighting and no deadbolt on the door. In fact, the doors weren't self locking. Needless to say, no internet or... More
