I have a cabin in Hill city. During the serious floods I needed help. Trout Haven was having their own issues to deal with, but opened their hearts and put me up in a cabin. Home made breakfast was a real treat in their cafe and the cabin they were kind enough to open had what I needed. The location... More

We stayed there on our way back from Yellowstone and had a GREAT time fishing, grilling our catch and staying in a beautiful and very comfortable Tipi with an ACTUAL (propane fueled) fire inside! I was thrilled to catch the first fish in my life! No fishing license (and no experience) is needed, also they provide the fishing poles and... More

We were very excited to stay here with the kids based on previous reviews and what was listed on their website. What a let down! The staff was rude on multiple occasions and acted like we were a bother by even being there. The cabin smelled terrible, none of the amenities listed on the website were present, the water was... We stopped on an impulse to see if we could get a trout dinner. The cafe was closed because it was late and so we decided to stay overnight in one of the cabins and have trout for breakfast instead! The cabin was recently remodeled and was lovely, peaceful and very comfortable. We caught our own trout the next morning... More

We stopped for a trout dinner and very glad we did. The new owners are excellent hosts. Our little one was proud to have caught fish for dinner and the fish was cooded to perfection. The coleslaw was like no other. The best and most memorable dinner of the whole trip.

We stayed in "cabin 3" the presidential cabin. HA!!! The cabin was clean and that is about it. The air conditioned cabin had a window air conditioner that didn't work. When we asked about cooling down the cabin they gave us a box fan which we thought we could put in the window but the window didn't have a screen... More

I stayed one night in tent on a motorcycle ride. The shower and toilet facilities are new internally. The camping area is a nice grass area. One downside is that my phone on ATT could not get a signal and there is no Wifi. There only seems to be one toilet and shower so if there are a lot of... More

Ralley Week most places are gouging on their prices but Trout haven was very reasonable. They offered Cabins and Teepees along with Tent and RV sites. Tent sites have small covered shelters and Picnic tables. However, They could have a little more leveled areas for the tents. The Owner had sold the property a few times and each time got... More

We recently took our family to Trout Haven Resort. The location is great because it is centerally located between Deadwood, Rapid City, and Hill City. You can fish on the property with no license and the kids loved that! There are picnic tables, fire pits, the cabins care clean, the tepees are cool and the service is great. The cafe... More

We stayed here for 2 days, the 5th and 6th of July. My two 8 year old boys got to catch their first fish ever!!! They were so thrilled, and the staff was so friendly, they were just about to close when we arrived, but they stayed open and baited the hooks for the boys, and waited until everyone caught... More
