We were unfortunate enough to hit a weekend when there was a hockey tournament in town and the hotel was full of high school age kids. The Fairfleid Inn in Brookings is one of the few options -- none of which are very good. The city's motels are clustered outside of town near the freeway and, in the case of the Fairfield Inn, near a Daktronics manufacturing facility. Beds were rock hard, floor would have been more comfortable. Toilet and surrounding floor was GROSS! Had not been cleaned in what appeared to be weeks. Hair all over sink and tub. Good sized rooms with all necessary facilities. Reasonably quiet despire a number of wedding celebrations going on. Would stay here again. more
