Old Academy is one of those places you cone across only once and awhile. The owner/hosts make you feel immediately welcome. We arrived early and our room was so comfortable with its relaxing chairs and calming atmosphere, we never left our room until the next morning. The breakfast was wonderful and if we would have had more time we would... More

I stayed for one night on my way back to Florida from North Carolina. I was coming down with a terrible cold and just wanted rest. I was offered the most delightful room where you feel right at home. The bed was most comfortable and just what I needed after 5 hrs. of driving. Jean and Don are the "hostesses... More

I've stayed at a number of B&Bs and this is undoubtedly one of the very best. The home is easy to find, historic, and beautiful. The room was both spacious and cozy and the bed extremely comfortable, giving me one of the best night's sleep in a while. Don and Jean are wonderful hosts and make you feel right at... More

This is a beautifully restored historic home. Jean & Don were great hosts, very friendly and welcoming. We stayed in the large room. It was very comfortable and we felt right at home. The house was very clean and tidy. The breakfast was delicious, served in the dining room with nice china and silver which felt very luxurious. Would definitely... More

This home is beautiful. Don and Jean are super nice and accommodating. It's a peaceful and quiet area with beautiful grounds and lots of shops and restaurants nearby. Jean makes a simple and wonderful breakfast. We stayed in Dawn's room and the furnishings in the room and in the house are very nice.

We enjoyed staying here very much. It was very clean- the floors shined and the silver sparkled. Not a speck of dust anywhere- all to show off the great house. We've stayed at many BnB's worldwide and this was vintage Americana, yet elegant. And the room with the king size bed was just the right size with it's own bath. Don... More

Don and Jean took such good care of our group from Maryland. The house is so homey and charming, and Jean's breakfasts sumptuous. It reminded my so much of being at my grandmother's house. We brought over some wine one evening and they even provided glasses for us. You just cannot beat it. I made some new friends with Don... More

A beautiful spacious home with a warm welcome and a tasty breakfast. Made to feel at home by Don and Jean. Set back from the road in a quiet area of Walterboro. We travelled from the UK for our son's wedding and we will be visiting again very soon!

I stayed one night on rout to Florida. Jean and Don are gracious hosts and their home is just lovely. Everything was supper clean and comfortable. The place has lots of charm and in keeping with the school history, a few landings are appointed with antique school desks with antique doll students. The building is spacious with side rooms for... Very lovely stay at the Old Academy B&B. The hosts Jeanne and Don have seen to every detail, right down to the chocolates in your room. A scrumptious breakfast as well, with fresh peaches and raspberries to start. We had the use of an upstairs enclosed porch with AC where they have a frig and extra TV for your use.... More
