My husband & I stayed here on our way back to NY from FL. Ieesha was on duty when we checked in and she was so very welcoming and personable. She even offered for us to look at the room before we checked in. Most places don't offer that. Very nice rooms and she gave us a coupon for money... More

On Sunday March 30, 2014 I booked a room for March 31, 2014. I left the hotel I stayed at on the 30th earlier than expected. I arrived at this location at approx. 1:00 pm on the 31st. I informed the woman working the front desk that I would not be staying and would like a refund. This woman (Mr.... More

After driving 14 hours from the Florida Keys on our way to WV, we decided to stay overnight in Orangeburg. All the national chain hotels were full. We are leery of staying in smaller motels due to some pretty bad past experiences. Upon our arrival, we were met by a wonderful young lady named Tanika. I asked if I could... More

On our way to Daytona and stopped because of the reviews and price. Tonica, on the front desk, was a breath of fresh air, welcoming us warmly. Breakfast well stocked, rooms clean, and lowest price in area. It is family owned, I think that was the key. We'll be back next year!!!

Everyone at the front desk and the breakfast service people were nothing short of the best you could hope for. The breakfast was well stocked with a good selection. The room was nice and clean. Rates were the best in the area.

Our stay at Southern Lodge was such a pleasant one; the room was exceptionally clean as were the linens that were also crisp & white. Both the afternoon staff and morning as well could not have been more helpful. We were so surprised at the complimentary breakfast as it was much better than we have had at more expensive hotels.... This exit has lots of hotels but all were full when we pulled in last night on our way back from Florida. Reluctantly we tried the Southern Lodge. The front desk clerk was so professional, friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The next morning a new front desk clerk was just as professional and helpful with breakfast.... My wife and I stopped at the Southern Lodge for a night on our way to Florida because of the fine reviews on this site. We found it to be comfortable, with excellent hospitality provided by both evening and morning staff. The complimentary breakfast was sufficient, price for stay was reasonable. We would return again. As a bonus, we got... More

Paid $80 including tax for king. Other hotels in the area were sold out or I may have thought it was a little high. Very clean and nice. Breakfasct was better than average. Overall we were pleased with the service and value.
