The marketing department for this "resort" needs a raise. I was shocked at how run down and filthy the place was. You can tell by the clientele that this is a cheap, easy place for people to get reservations. In fact, we are leaving one night early because the place is such a crap hole

The Sea Mist is really hit or miss if you book through the website. The property is quite expansive, and unless you are staying in the Tides/Driftwoods building, you're not going to get a nice room. I own a ocean view unit in the Driftwood building on the 12 floor, and the building doesn't feel like it belongs on the... More

DO NOT STAY HERE! absolutely horrible, rooms are filthy and very run down. Rooms had a very foul smell heat doesn't work properly rooms are very small. Most of the place is shut down. The pictures on the website are a huge misrepresentation of the "resort" it's more like a run down ghetto motel. There was a gang fight and... More

We stayed at this hotel so we could bring our standard & toy poodles to celebrate my husband's birthday weekend. On day 3 of 4, while I was waiting for the elevator, a German Shepard came out of the room to the right of me and went straight for me. He bit through my jacket and got my arm. The... More

We stayed here for 4 nights for the 16th Annual Ghost on the Coast Dart Tournament. The rate was great and our 2nd floor room was ocean front. The hotel is older and starting to show it's age but our room was a studio with a kitchen with refrigerator, stove , microwave and coffee pot. The hotel is huge so... More

The room "seemed" to be clean enough, but if the grounds are any indication, it was just an illusion. Didn't find dirt, bugs, hair etc, but the grounds were simply ignored from a cleaning perspective. We paid for Ocean Front, but I question that as it was so far back from all the other hotels, it should have been Ocean... More

Well, where do I start? Drinking and partying in the parking lot (ALL hours of the night), hallway smelled like ROTTEN FISH (we had to cover our noses from the room to the elevator) and overall condition of the hotel. You get what you pay for...we paid $40 for a Friday night in early October. Spent the rest of my... More

We visit myrtle beach every year. I found a special for Seamist, $48. We only needed one night before we checked in to a different resort. At check-in I realized things did not look kept. Entrance doors were filthy and the woman checking me in looked like she used her shirt as a table cloth for last night's dinner party.... More

I visited during the off season (October) and so was able to get a very inexpensive rate. I stayed in the Sandcastle Building in a beach-front room. Could not complain given the view at such an affordable rate. Bottom line, you get what you pay for. It's an old, outdated hotel that could use serious renovations. If you're used to... More
