My fiance and I spent 3 horrible nights there. Initially we asked to be put in the new section, but they assured us that the old section had been refurbished. Instead they just gave it a fresh coat of paint. The carpet in this place was so grimmy that we wore our shoes. We had moth holes in the blankets,... more

I booked this hotel because I have two very young children so the kitchinette works perfect. This hotel is old, not well maintained and the pool is smelly. It is very noise at night; which is "a need" when travelling with little children. The room was never serviced before 2pm and one of the days they didn't leave us the... more

My husband and I booked this hotel without even thinking of reading the reviews..but once we did, we were horrified. We decided to go ahead and keep our hotel reservation, (mainly because backing out would have cost us a lot of money). We were completely surprised when we got there, and instead of finding a rundown dump of a place,... more

I stayed at Sands Ocean Club with a group of 11 guys for my bachelor party. It was exactly what we needed to have a good time. They have a poolside bar with great drinks and live music during the day and a lounge with karaoke at night. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for families, but if you are looking... more

To put it short, this was the worst time my family and I have ever had at the beach. We wasted two hours trying to get into our room because the keys didn't work, then the room wasn't the one we booked and then we had to call the front desk 3 times in the middle of the night to... more

I just returned home from spending my worse MB vacation ever because I stayed at Sands Ocean Club I have stayed here many times before with friends and extended family and I encouraged them to use Sands Ocean Club because it was a nice, quiet, clean, family oriented hotel. My stay over Memorial Day weekend was the last one ever... more

The Sands Ocean Club in Myrtle Beach isn't the worst hotel I've ever stayed at by any stretch of the imagination, however it's certainly well below average. I wouldn't call this a dirty hotel, per se, however much of it is in disrepair and in huge need of renovation. The parking situation was terrible. The parking garage is very cramped,... more

If you are thinking of stay at this resort with small children, I would advise against it. This resort is more for 30-60 yrs old ready to have a good time and party. The hotel itself needs a lot of renovations and the rooms need to be updated horribly. The staff is very nice and helpful. The room overall was... more

I have stayed at the Sands twice, once in Aug. 2007 and two weeks ago. My in-laws have a condo there and I love it. The place is clean and the facilities are great. The indoor pool is great if it's too cold outside and the beach is perfect, with the music being heard from Ocean Annie's. And at night... more

My family and I stayed at Sands from April 10th - April 13th. We were in room 1427 which was a two bedroom two bath ocean front room. The room was clean and nice. I was expecting the worst when I got thee after reading all the bad reviews. We have a 4 year old and an 11 year old... more
