We have been staying at the Mariner since 1966. We were very disappointed two years ago with the sad state of disrepair and lack of cleanliness. The renovations are wonderful, and the place is so clean now!! The room and pools are spotless. Grounds manicured, nice landscaping. New fridge, microwave, AC, furniture, carpet, tile, redone bathroom and shower. Beds are... more

We chose this hotel as we have a small teacup poodle and it was pet friendly. When we checked into our room, we opened the door and the smell was horrible. It smelled like mold/mildew. We just thought it might be because it had just rained, so we went ahead and unloaded our stuff and headed to the beach. That... more

I had stayed at the Mariner 14 years ago as a teenager and had nothing but pleasant memories. My husband and I decided to give it a try for this past July 4th weekend. What a disappointment! After a long day at the beach, we both looked forward to a good shower before going out to dinner. We were shocked... more

If you are looking for an inexpensive place to stay at Myrtle Beach, then look no further. Unlike the expensive, high-rise hotels that line the beach, the Mariner Motel is a quaint place with a strong beach vibe. The motel is surrounded by trees and even has a bamboo garden. There is also a comfy, shaded hammock to relax on... more

My Wife and I stayed at the Mariner during Bike Week 2007. We picked the Mariner because we brought our dog with us on this trip. We had a room right by the pool in front so it was easy to bring the dog out for a walk. Our room was large and comfortable. It had a mini fridge that... more

A lovely, interesting and quaint oasis providing relief in the midst of high rises and boring cookie cutter accomodations. Great location, wonderful heated pool and pet friendly. Studio with kitchen was perfect. Nice staff and clientele. Not luxe but that's not what we were looking for - we wanted something with character - that's what memories are made of. It... more

My husband and I just returned from a long stay in March at the Mariner Motel. If we had been able to move to other accommodation we would have but with a small dog we could not find anything. This place is a disaster...the plumbing is unacceptable, the place is not clean and very run down. It was to be... more

I think we got one of the better rooms because there was a jacuzzi in the large bathroom. However, we didn't dare to use it because it was not clean. I noticed hair and dirt in the jacuzzi, sink, and shower. The bedroom was fairly clean. We didn't expect too much from a motel. There was a small frig, microwave,... more
