Anniversary trip in March 2015. We stayed in one bedroom condo on East Beach. Loved the condo. Rented bikes and played golf. Service and restaurants were awesome. Everyone so very nice but bring your wallet!!!! It is not cheap. Golf was $600 just for the two of us. It was a splurge. Been there, done that and could not afford... More

The wide, beautiful beach and 18 and older pool were huge advantages of this lovely resort in South Carolina and the Ocean Room restaurant served us a delicious 5 star dinner. The rooms, spa and availability of food and drinks made this a wonderful stay for us and should have earned the resort a 5. It didn't hurt though that... More

We stayed at this resort for 7 nights with another couple. We thought he whole property needed some refreshing and updating. It reminded me of the Greenbriar Hotel before its renovation. Their nice restaurant (2nd floor) was quite good and we enjoyed the meal. However, it was very difficult to get a drink in the bar off the lobby. More... More

We spent 5 days at the Sanctuary last week and it was absolutely superb. From room service to elegant dining, all our dining experiences were great. The oceanfront room was wonderful with great personal care and attention from the housekeeping staff. We rented bikes to ride on the beach. We took a nature tour that was a lot of fun.... More

From the moment you arrive you are impressed by the grandeur of the building and location. The staff are all constantly wanting to help and provide for everyones needs. The beach staff were excellent but let down by the pool side restaurant. The failure to bring pre ordered drinks and lunch to the beach was disappointing. However the issue was handled... More

The lobby is beautiful and so are the grounds. There are swimming pools, bikes to ride on the beach at low tide, plenty of golf courses, and restaurants. The rooms have comfortable beds and nice bathrooms. It is spacious and clean. The staff is helpful and friendly.

More than just staying at a resort, this place is an entire experience in itself. The name is perfect, because its truly feels like you are getting away to your own sanctuary when staying here (try and come during the less busy months for an even better experience). This resort has thought of everything, from the great options for food,... More

My wife and I stayed at The Sanctuary for two days, one night, the weekend of May 8th. Words cannot express how fantastic our stay was. The moment you walk in, you are treated as royalty, and that treatment doesn't stop until you leave. A stay is not simply a stay, like many resorts around the low country. Instead, it... More

Loved the room so much, I didn't want to leave it! VERY spacious, lovely view, bathroom interconnected by shutters you could leave open, or close. This hotel is absolutely stunning. Ate in the lobby lounge and the food was lovely. Also ate in a nearby restaurant located in one of the Golf Clubhouse's that was delish!

While a beautiful property, under the surface there are flaws- especially for the price. At almost $800 per night and New York food and beverage prices I expected more. The hotel is very noisy - internal noises from housekeeping staff, other guests with kids, doors opening and closing etc. It is as if your door and walls are paper. We... More
