We (me, wife and two children (7 and 5)) just returned from a week at Kiawah Island Golf Resort. We truly enjoyed our stay. Most of my comments are very positive; however, there are a few areas that need improvement. I booked everything through the resort. Very easy. Everytime I called they were very helpful. I made reservations for the... More

We booked a 2BR villa on the ocean (Shipwatch villa). The view was spectacular, and the boardwalk to the beach was connected to the villa. But...the villa was in the premier category, and was found lacking in several areas. First, the master bed was very close to sleeping on the floor...must've been an extra, extra stiff mattress. We stayed in... More

We just returned from our second (annual, perhaps?) summer vacation to Kiawah. My family (kids are 4 and 6) loved the setting and activities. The beach is beautiful, clean and vast. The pool is large but not fancy. We enjoyed a nature class geared toward young children in the nature center where the kids were able to touch some of... More

My wife and my two sons (4 yr old and 2 yr old) stayed in one of the Windswept Villas. It was a three bedroom affair with a nice-sized kitched and great porches and views. The villa was great and we really enjoyed our time there. One thing families should know though, is that once you're on Kiawah, you're pretty... More

I attended a three day veterinary conference on Kiawah, and my husband and I stayed in a Tennis Club villa. The condo was very comfortable and clean. The kitchen was fully stocked with cookware, dinnerware, utensils, and everything you would need to prepare a meal if you choose to do so. The island is really beautiful and full of wildlife!... I used to live in Charleston but now I live in Seattle. Still, I try to get back every so often. This time I decided to stay down at Kiawah. Unfortunately, I waited a bit too long to make my reservations. So nothing was available in the Sanctuary or in the premium villas. I had no choice but to book... More

My fiancee and I recently stayed at Kiawah Island in one of the Tennis Club Villas. We had a beautiful lagoon view and the villa was comfortable and very clean. Admittedly, it wasn't an ideal week to be on Kiawah, as Charleston was experiencing the coldest week in something like ten years, so we weren't able to fully enjoy everything... More

This was our third visit in six years to Kiawah Island Golf Resort. And we continue to be thrilled with each visit. We always book through the Golf Resort and stay in a villa or private home. This year, we stayed in a private home is the Osprey area - a gated community within Kiawah. The home was lovely and... More

Excellent for family - Dad can play golf and Mom/kids can enjoy beach, pool, nature courses & biking. Book through the golf resort directly for pool access - be very wary of Resort Quest, Kiawah Golf Resort doesn't allow pool access to Resort Quest guests & Kiawah Golf Resort has much better accommodations & key benefits. Rent bikes through Island... More
