We stayed at the Shipwatch Villas and, unlike a previous reviewer, we had very comfortable beds. The kitchen layout was awkward, I agree, but we didn't spend much time there over our long weekend. The view of the ocean from the upper floors was just beautiful and it was nice to hear the surf at night. The breeze blew nicely... more

I just stayed in a home with the Kiawah Island Golf resort with my friends. We had a fantastic time. The house was beautiful and the young people that work at the desk and housekeeping were fabulous. We didn't play golf but the courses looked nice. We did eat at the Atlantic Room for dinner one night and it was... more

I stayed at the Turtle Cove Villas for 2 nights as part of a conference located on the island. The island is gorgeous. It is very well preserved, and I saw deer wandering around at several points. The access to the island from Charleston airport is somewhat challenging, since there is one road acess, and any accidents will cause a... more

We did an 8 guys golfing trip on Thanksgiving weekend. The golf courses are terrrific Ocean Point, Osprey, Turtle, and Oak Point in that order. We did not get to Cougar but I suspect it is better than Oak. The villas work out fine, room for 4 guys with living and kitchen areas and lots of TV's and enough bath... more

My family spent a week on Kiawah in early September. We opted for an ”affordable” US vacation instead of a pricier all-inclusive Caribbean resort. I will not make the mistake again. Be prepared to be nickel and dimed all week long at the Kiawah Golf Resort & Spa and their Villa’s. Pro’s: Island and beach are pretty. My daughter enjoyed... more

My family (2 teenage children) stayed at the resort for a week - stayed once before 10 years ago - some good things, some bad. The good: area is beautiful, lush, good for biking (trails and on beach), very nice beach, spacious room (deluxe villa), close to Charleston (30+ minutes) with lots of shopping and sites (plantations...), and friendly staff.... more

We (me, wife and two children (7 and 5)) just returned from a week at Kiawah Island Golf Resort. We truly enjoyed our stay. Most of my comments are very positive; however, there are a few areas that need improvement. I booked everything through the resort. Very easy. Everytime I called they were very helpful. I made reservations for the... more

We booked a 2BR villa on the ocean (Shipwatch villa). The view was spectacular, and the boardwalk to the beach was connected to the villa. But...the villa was in the premier category, and was found lacking in several areas. First, the master bed was very close to sleeping on the floor...must've been an extra, extra stiff mattress. We stayed in... more

We just returned from our second (annual, perhaps?) summer vacation to Kiawah. My family (kids are 4 and 6) loved the setting and activities. The beach is beautiful, clean and vast. The pool is large but not fancy. We enjoyed a nature class geared toward young children in the nature center where the kids were able to touch some of... more
