In spite of the responses by management to the reviews, The Palms "is what it is but will never be much more." (There's not much any owner could do to improve the hotel.) Obviously a redone "cheaper" hotel (Holiday Inn?), the staff tries hard and the decor has been all "churched up" but it is definitely not a luxury hotel... more

The review of this guest is appreciated, especially since we can always learn from the feedback given and improve on that. I am disappointed to read that this guest will not be returning, and apologize if we gave off the appearance of being a luxury hotel. We strive to maintain a clean hotel, with friendly staff members that try very...

We stayed here after going to Charleston and staying in the historic district for two nights. It's not a long drive in to town, so if we ever go there again we'd stay here and skip the higher-priced lodging in town. The hotel is right on the beach and we had a partial view of the ocean but there are... more

The Palms Hotel likes to think that when staying here you get the best of both worlds (downtown and the beach). Being in the middle of most of the attractions on the island it can be a little noisy on the weekends, but it does get quite at reasonable hours. Thanks for taking the time to write your review on...

A wonderful surprise after the stress of getting through Myrtle Beach and highway traffic. Manager who checked us in was ahead of us in providing for all our needs -- for example, giving us our wireless internet password without us having to ask. The nearby restaurants were casual and good. My husband would have liked an easy chair facing the... more

I pleased to read that this guest had a truly enjoyable stay. Our guest service representatives are trained to provide superior customer service. The Isle of Palms takes pride in being a beach front community without the hustle and bustle that some other beach communitys have grown to be. We will consider easy chairs the next time we replace furniture...

we went during off season so it was quiet, with a bar on either side of hotel i wouldn't reccomend this to some one who needs quiet during the regular season. we switched rooms when we first got there because we were put right above the a.c. units[ not so great for sleeping] they were very accomendating and helpful. the... more

First let me thank this guest for their review. The Palms hotel is in the middle of the commercial districet of the small island of Isle of Palms. We are located between resteraunts that do often have live music during the summer months, but they have stop playing at 10pm on weekdays and at 11pm on weekends. I want to...

The Palms is a very good option for non condo renters who want a quick getaway to IOP. We were pleased at the warm greeting from the front desk staff and the housekeepers upon our arrival. When table lamp on the small desk was found to be faulty, the management had it fixed before we arrived back to our room... more

The comments of this guest is indicative of what it is like to stay at The Palms. We do have a friendly staff, very warm people that try to make our guests feel like this could be their home away from home. We also welcome any recommendations for improvement, so I appreciate this guest's comments and will pass it on...

I arrived at 1 in the morning due to a very late flight. The hotel is in a dark area of town - very dark. Some idiot asked if "I'd do him" I'm well over 50 so you know he was drunk or drugged. The first room I had stunk - I knew I was in trouble when I asked... more

We had a very good experience here. Reasonable price, good room, great view, great service. Off-season, so parking was not an issue. You could do much, much worse than the Palms. (THIS IS A REAL REVIEW! Jim Cyr, Caribou Maine) more

The location and free breakfast were good. It was the best view we have ever had from an "ocean view" room. The outside had been updated, but the room we were given was old and dirty, the pictures on the internet are decieving. We didn 't change rooms or try to find alternative accommodations because we booked at the last... more

It is regretful to read about a guest that wasn't satisfied with their accommodations. The housekeeping staff works really hard every day, and if they're informed of any dissatisfaction, they are quick to correct them. I apologize for the inconveniences this guest experienced. I also appreciate the time this guest took to write a review for us, we can always...

We really wanted to stay right on the beach, and we hit the last week of "off fares" so it was very reasonable to stay!!! the beach was fantastic, the staff was very friendly, and it started our vacation out great! Quaint, non-chain hotel! more

Nice place just steps from the ocean. Nothing particularly fancy, heard it used to be a Holiday Inn but looks like its been upgraded. We had a king room with balcony, overlooking the beach. Room was large with a small kitchenette island. Sitting area with sofa and coffee table all for $99!! It was a great deal for us. Arrived... more
