I have stayed at this hotel several times over the past 15 years. I like the feeling of nostalgia when staying at the old Inns. But, I do expect that the facilities should be kept up-to-date. The room we had WAS dated. Sink had cracks in it. Water did not taste clean from facuett. Swimming pool had very murky water... More

Overall the hotel is pleasant enough although dated. The feel is a fading southern belle. However the desk staff were friendly and helpful, printed a map for me to the art museum. The place was almost completely empty, of a 180 rooms only about 6 appeared occupied. This lent a somewhat creepy air to the place. Fairly well located to... More

We stayed here in July 2011 for two nights. The inn is a few miles away from downtown, but it is conveniently located. It is in a fairly quiet area, on an elevated lot. The staff was friendly and the room was clean. As a family-owned inn, it is probably hard to compete with national chains, hence the fixtures, faucets,... More

The hotel was deserted with perhaps 3-4 rooms occupied, however, a front desk clerk was always available, friendly & helpful. Our room was clean & well appointed. The breakfast was more generous than most with grits, eggs & biscuits rather than just the cold cereal & plastic wrapped muffins at many places. Overall, for $80/night this place over-delivered for the... More

We visit Greenville several times a year and always stay at the Phoenix. It has become part of a wonderful Greenville experience that we look forward to. Do not expect modern. Expect older, family run with all the good stuff we associate with a 50's-60's style overnight experience. Friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms and very comfortable beds, large off the... More

It sounds like you sure know how to enjoy Greenville! It is such a wonderful city with so much to do. I always love catching a game down at the Drive Stadium, as well. Your kind words are much appreciated. Our traditional rooms, and old-fashioned style definitely set us apart from the others... and we like it that way! We... More

We just returned from a night at teh Phoenix inn. I am a very picky person who feels that CLEAN is the most important aspect of a hotel. That being said I was weary after reading the reviews, and I went there with low expectations. It is the perfect place to stay if you are attending a convention at the... More

Our experience here was nothing short of wonderful! For someone who doesn't nap, I napped every day in my comfy bed. I'm also a stickler about my room being clean and not only was my room VERY clean, they made sure to ask if everything was being maintained and did an amazing job replenishing whatever we needed as we needed... I wish I could write a more positive review, but I can't. I took a chance on this hotel because of the listings I saw online. They advertised "Four Poster Beds" and showed photos of a beautiful room. When I arrived, I was disappointed to find that my room looked more like a low budget inn. I paid $90 for... More

Phoenix is an older property, but is well maintained and in a great location. It is located on a hill far enough off the road that traffic noise is not a problem. The rooms are clean and well furnished and the hotel staff are first class.
