Greenville offers many downtown hotels with luxurious accommodations, this hotel is not for those travelers. Not to deter you, my room was not only affordable but clean and spacious and the lobby boasted a bar as well. However, my room was about 60 degrees when I arrived and only offered a wall heater which took an hour or two to... More

I was looking for a hotel close to a location we were going to in Greenville for the night. I read some earlier reviews and was hesitant about booking. We showed up without reservations and asked to see a room prior to booking. The young lady at the front desk was very nice and accommodating to our request. She showed... More

***WARNING*** I want to start by saying that the front desk ladies are AMAZING, and did issue me a full refund that I am greatfull for. My boyfriend and I live very close to greenville and wanted a fancy getaway. This hotel had beautiful pictures and somehow had pretty good reviews. So we prepaid and booked for two nights. We... We appreciate you taking the time to share your recent experience with other TripAdvisor followers, and are certainly disappointed to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations. We of course take some exception to a number of your comments concerning the overall condition and vitality of the property - obviously there are a significant number of guests that... More

This was our second visit to The Phoenix; the last being 2 years ago. At that time we gave it a glowing recommendation. Apparently it was allowed to deteriorate during the previous owner's last couple years. Now under new ownership, they have a big job ahead to bring this gem back. As in our last visit, the staff was great,... More

Thank you for taking the time out to share your thoughts on your recent experience at our property. We've been hard at work the past several months addressing the most pressing issues that we found when we took over, and are in the midst of planning out more extensive renovations as part of a general refresh that, as you noticed,... Found the Phoenix on the internet, looked interesting, not the run of the mill hotels. While we were there we learn that it is under new owners and they are planning a MAJOR renovation, it needs it, but don't touch the dinning areas or the pub! Breakfast was very good. The lunch and dinners were also very good and reasonable... More

We had a room facing the pool (inside a courtyard) and stayed here with a group of friends. We had an amazing time, the beds were comfortable, the room was spotless (even if the chair popped apart when I tried to adjust my seat.. a little glue does wonders), and housekeeping did an awesome job picking up on our hints... You can read all of my other reviews and find out that we like this place. Convenient, large, older rooms, and the staff is friendly. The real breakfast in the morning is a real plus. The only complaint that we've ever had is with the Wi-Fi. We travel on business and being able to stay connected is a requirement. They... More

Boom. We really appreciate your continued patronage, and for taking the time time out to share your experience with other TripAdvisor travelers. You are most correct about healthy WIFI - it's a must these days in just about any circumstance, and it's been a major focus of ours since taking over management of the property last month. We'll be very... More

The Phoenix has a delicious breakfast buffet and beautiful vintage dining room. The Inn is charming and nicely cared for but it's age is showing through the peeling paint and cracking pillars. The architecture and landscape is superb but that's about it. We traveled in the off winter season and there were only a couple of other guests. However, when... More

When making my reservation, I asked for a handicapped room because they have no elevators and it is hard for me to get up and down the stairs. Go to check in and was given a key to the second floor. I said I need a room on the first floor I have a handicap. He said sorry there is... More

After years of travelling to Greenville on business, I finally decided to stay at the Phoenix. I am certain this hotel used to be quite nice years ago. While the staff was friendly, the room was just okay. There was a chair in the room the arm had been worn through and the stuffing was coming out. The room really... More
