Me and my family recently spent the last weekend there which turned out to be the worst hotel stay of my life! We were on the first floor by the pool which meant for a noisy environment. The rooms were seriously outdated and musty, esp. the old carpet. Had a microwave in the room which didn't work. Not good for... more

Have stayed at this hotel more then once, usually 1-4 nights at a time. This hotel brings back memories of the older family owned type motels that you found along the highway, before the supper chains took over. Let me say that I travel for business combined with pleasure, my wife & 3-year-old always come with. We stay in hotels... more

This is a VERY, PET FRIENDLY PLACE. Since you are ONLY staying overnite to continue on the next day, it was truly a nice experience. NO COMPLAINTS about the dogs...Room was clean. TV worked great. And since we were not familiar with the area, didn't want to go out and EXPLORE, so we ate in their Restuarant. Unbelievably good food!!!... more

My great grandparents used to stay here while on their way down to Florida from New Jersey, this was back in the 70's/80's. Ever since I started taking the trip to Florida back in 2000 I decided to continue the tradition. Every year since then (except for 2003 when it had be booked for the night) I've stayed at this... more

If you are driving The Beast (AKA I-95) Florence is a good place to stop for the night. After staying at another hotel at this same exit over the years, thought we'd give the Thunderbird Inn a shot because of the enticing offer of a free breakfast buffet. And shoot it we should have... right across the highway to the... more

This motel is rated 2 satrs by AAA. That is about right. Basic, 1960's style, although it has a decent pool in the courtyard. Right under the interstate so the side that faces it has loud traffic noise. If that is an issue request a different locaton. Could have been cleaner, but it was passable. Our $47.00 rate came with... more

The Thunderbird Inn is a half-way point for us, driving from Alexandria, VA, and the experience was great. For the room rate, we took our small dog, enjoyed the big, clean pool, and the country buffet was yummy! I highly recommend it, and will stop there again in the future. more
