Positives: You are right on the Atlantic at the beach campground. Some sites more so than others. Lots of shells! Nice Atlantic beach. Negatives: Campsites are tightly packed for a state park. No paved or even worked roads. Pot holes are awful! Facilities need updating. Bath Houses are not very clean. Check-in is at offsite campground. Again terrible roads especially... More

I have lived in SC for 14 years and have always heard praise for Edisto Island and Edisto State park. We usually stay in Charleston when we go to the beach but for this short trip we snagged a cabin rental for the "stay two nights get the third night free" deal the park offered. I couldn't find very many... More

Campsites are a decent size but not all of them are well placed-some sites are almost on top of each other. Interior roads need grading. Check in needs to be in a different spot for the beach side camp area. It's difficult to navigate the interior roads especially with the low hanging trees. Overall it's a great spot and we'll... We stayed in the Live Oak Campground 7/27-7/31 (5 nights). Note that the Live Oak Campground is about 0.5 - 0.75 mile from the beach. Edisto Beach State Park has two separate sections - the beachside section and the Live Oak section. The beachside section also has campsites and it also has a day area with beach access and a... Edisto island is a beautiful place to stay and camp. You can set up a tent or park your RV so close to the water that you can hear the ocean while you are going to sleep. The service we received was very hospitable. I like this destination most of all because it is not the "hot spot" for vacationers... More

Stayed one week at Edisto Beach State Park Campground. Our first time camping there and we loved it. Secluded and totally peaceful. As others have said there are two camping areas. Live Oaks Campground that is not close to the beach. It has the registration area and is closer to the nature center in a forest area. The other camping... More

Our family has been coming to the beach campground for the last 10 years. This years visit will be the last. The bath houses have been in need of renovation for several years. One way we dealt with the filthy and outdated conditions was to bring along a shower tent. However, this year we were told that shower tents are... More

There are 2 separate camping areas, as others have said. One is right behind the dunes at the beach and the other is in a wooded area off the marsh. While the Live Oaks area is only half a mile from the beach, I would not suggest families try to walk or bike to the beach. There is only a... More

We've stayed her several time and it's one of our Fav campgrounds. The beach campground is hard to get a reservation because they are booked so far in advance - 11 month is the maximum booking window so plan ahead. There is very little privacy in this campground because not much grows near the beach... it is what it is.... More

My partner and I stayed here a couple of weekends ago. The camp sites on the beach are open and you can see everyone else and they can see you, i guess if you don't mind this it is a nice spot to spend a few days. The toilet/shower block needs some TLC, toilets seems to have some problems flushing... More
