Great hotel, great staff, great area. Stayed two nights on business and I like to try non-chain type places. This was a good choice that I would make again. The staff was spectacular. They do not have a business center which is only a problem if you need to print or scan. Well I needed to print for a meeting.... More

We had a delightful stay (despite the horrific thunderstorm that threatened to wash us away) with complementary room service brought to us by Lamar. He was punctual and delightful, but we had spent our last money at Starbuck's the night before. We tried to add a gratuity to our folio but were unsuccessful. However, were told that if we mentioned... More

Easy walking distance from Five Points restaurants and shops Renovated historic building with attractive décor and large comfortable rooms. Courteous, knowledgeable staff. Order a breakfast (admittedly, it's a light breakfast) the night before and it will be delivered to your room the next morning. One of many extra touches that made our stay special. A wonderful hotel for a couples... More

This is a marvelous boutique hotel located in a renovated factory (Claussen’s Bakery) in the Five Points area, the hip neighborhood in Columbia, South Carolina’s state capital. It’s also within walking distance of the downtown area. A one night stay in late April didn’t exactly come cheap at about $200 (I know, it always depends on what you’re used to),... More

Not one complaint here! Would definitely stay again. Very quaint! The train went by twice so if you have trouble sleeping pop in some ear plugs. Comfy beds & attentive, kind, staff. Lots of character!!

The Inn At Claussen's is on the very edges of both the University of South Carolina and the vibrant area called 5 Points. Our whole family had just stayed at The Claussen for 4 days last weekend for our daughter's graduation. Go Kate & our beloved Gamecocks! When we come to Columbia we do try and stay at The Claussen... We arrived about 1 am and Herbert at the front desk was terrific. With a child at USC, we've stayed at other local hotels, but this one has been the best. Right near Five Points, it's within walking distance to everything.

I really liked the location and the cool architecture and various rooms. I had a porch and the old style factory was very cool. I would highly recommend this location. Awesome rooms, and really good service. Not your ordinary stay. But it can get quite hot on really hot nights, and no A/C on the main factory floor. Also I... More

Dear Macy, Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us and upcoming guests. The next time you are here ask to see other rooms; with 29 rooms, and no two rooms being the same, you get a different experience each time. Again, thank you. Regards, Amy More

Drove right past the Inn because the giant sign carved into the building says Claussen Bakery so I got sidetracked. The staff is great, the room clean. Ok there is a train track right next door but I heard two and I was out like a light in my comfy bed. Ate at restaurant attached to rear of hotel. Starbucks... More

First stay at this hotel while son deciding if he wants to attend USC - the answer was yes, so we'll be returning. Easy walking distance to USC and great on sight restaurant. Rooms a little quirky but nice.

Dear Virginiahome64, We are delighted to welcome you to the Gamecock family and happy you will be with us the next four years! Each and every room is decorated differently. This is one of the many elements to make our hotel so unique from the others in the area. Feel free to ask the concierge to let you see other... More
