Bed was not comfortable, electrical outlets didn't half work, queen size bed with very small pillows. Seems like they are worried more about looks than comfort. No view from my room. I ended up wasting my money. I have bruises on my leg from bumping into the bed due to lack of space in the room. I would never recommend... More

I was disappointed in the bed. It definitely needs replaced as it sunk in so low that there was not a comfortable spot to be found. The sound of water running in the upstairs bedroom is so very loud that I had to turn up the volume on the television every time the people upstairs decided to run a bath... More

Very convenient to campus. Campus is literally walking distance away. I've read other reviews here about the train. It is near the tracks but after staying two nights, this is a non-issue. The continental breakfasts are prepared and delivered per the order tag to be left outside the door each night. Adequate selection and served to your room on a... More

I stayed there for two nights while attending orientation at USC. The facility was very nice. It is undergoing renovations on the top floor but we never noticed anything. The thing that sets this place apart I feel is the customer service. A nice breakfast delivered to your room at your choice of time, complimentary wine and cheese in the... More

Dear delamom2015 Thank you for staying with us during USC orientations. We hope to have you become part of the Claussen's family over the next 4 years. When you book again, mention you would like a mini fridge in your room; our lofted suites all feature a fridge, or you can get one from concierge for a minimal fee per... More

Great hotel, great staff, great area. Stayed two nights on business and I like to try non-chain type places. This was a good choice that I would make again. The staff was spectacular. They do not have a business center which is only a problem if you need to print or scan. Well I needed to print for a meeting.... More

Dear Michael, Thank you for choosing Inn at Claussen's while in Columbia on business. We apologize you were unable to use our business center (located on the second floor) but am happy the front desk was able to assist your immediate needs. See you again in the future. Regards, Amy More

We had a delightful stay (despite the horrific thunderstorm that threatened to wash us away) with complementary room service brought to us by Lamar. He was punctual and delightful, but we had spent our last money at Starbuck's the night before. We tried to add a gratuity to our folio but were unsuccessful. However, were told that if we mentioned... More

Easy walking distance from Five Points restaurants and shops Renovated historic building with attractive décor and large comfortable rooms. Courteous, knowledgeable staff. Order a breakfast (admittedly, it's a light breakfast) the night before and it will be delivered to your room the next morning. One of many extra touches that made our stay special. A wonderful hotel for a couples... More

This is a marvelous boutique hotel located in a renovated factory (Claussen’s Bakery) in the Five Points area, the hip neighborhood in Columbia, South Carolina’s state capital. It’s also within walking distance of the downtown area. A one night stay in late April didn’t exactly come cheap at about $200 (I know, it always depends on what you’re used to),... More

Not one complaint here! Would definitely stay again. Very quaint! The train went by twice so if you have trouble sleeping pop in some ear plugs. Comfy beds & attentive, kind, staff. Lots of character!!

The Inn At Claussen's is on the very edges of both the University of South Carolina and the vibrant area called 5 Points. Our whole family had just stayed at The Claussen for 4 days last weekend for our daughter's graduation. Go Kate & our beloved Gamecocks! When we come to Columbia we do try and stay at The Claussen...
