I had and still have high hopes for the Inn At Claussen's. The place is certainly guilty of professional dishonesty from a website perception to the reality of the place and I think they'd better serve themselves if they'd announce the fact on the site that the room promoted on the website is their designer showroom and is the only... more

It's obvious that the people who designed and own this inn never stay here. I wouldn't either, if I were them. The linens were very clean, and the bathroom reasonably clean too, but the water glass was dirty, the carpet sticky everywhere, and a cabinet door full of never-wiped lint. The inn is right next to a train track so... more

The first night of our stay was fine. The second night we were awakened at 3 am to someone beating the neighbor's door, cursing, yelling, etc...Notified the front desk and they did handle it appropriately. They apparently have no age restrictions at this hotel. So it's nice to be in five points, but when the bar scene finds its way... more

We needed a place for one night, choose The Inn at Claussen's due to it's location. We got to stay in a newly rennovated loft room and it was great. Very modern. The only change I would make to the place would be better sheets as they were really scratch - past that wonderful! more

Stayed here in March with a few friends. Unfortunately the "jacuzzi" was not in service, but that was pretty much the only downfall. Adorable hotel in an old bakery. I loved that they still served warm pastries for breakfast, brought right to your room! very clean hotel (no moldy smell that i noticed!) but there is a train that does... more

The only positive things that I can really say about this inn is: 1. It's located right at USC and 2. The room was clean. The hallways smelled horribly old and reminded me of the smell inside the Battleship in Wilmington. The room service....well there really was none. The maid was lazy and rude. In entire place is in great... more

The young lady at the front desk was very nice and helpful. You get wine and scotch in the lobby and breakfast is delivered to your room in the morning. It was a little noisy because it's close to Five Points, but it's a great location so you can walk everywhere! There's a starbucks right across the street too, so... more

We have stayed here in the past and found the location to be convenient if you are going to 5 points. (Popular restaurant and bar area). I called at 9:00 Am the day of our planned stay and was told that I would be charged full price for cancelling. This is arcaic in the time of the internet, and there... more

This is a charming place. Gorgeous lobby with fountain. They offer "free" brandy and wine in the afternoons in the lobby (however, it is hidden in the total cost of the hotel fee). The rooms are nice. The location is perfect (near Univ. of SC and 5-points.) However, the carpeting, wallpaper and furniature have been around since the dinasours.....Really could... more

Lovely place in a converted bakery. Spacious rooms. Best neighborhood to stay in in Columbia (Five Points - lots of restaurants, etc.). Short walk to USC. I highly recommend the restaurant next door (Mr. Friendly's). Very friendly staff. more
