Although ideally located the hotel is tired and worn. My room was sparse the walls looked as if the former wallpaper was town off and a base coat of paint applied. Bed linens dont fit and flip off during the night. Rugs are dirty abd dusty. Ordinarily I am not that fussy but the Clarion needs a re-do. Had no... More

Stayed here for 4 nights during a recent business trip. Great location downtown, a few blocks from the capitol building and Tthe Vista entertainment district. Clean rooms, very friendly staff and free parking. Hotel has a restaurant however I did not eat there.

Not worth the money. Mechanical defective. Holes in wall. No microwave. No fridge. Pool not finished. Major renovations going on. Motel behind has some nefarious looking folks. The only bright spot was the restaurant.

We chose this hotel because we were in town for a concert at the Colonial Life Arena, and it was the closest one to the arena with vacancies when booked one week before the show. We paid $129 for the night, $144 and some change with tax. It seems if I'd had waited til the night I wanted to stay... More

The service was very friendly from star to finished. Rooms are dated and halls smell funny. Room was fine though and clean. It's what I would expect for the most reasonable place to stay in walking distance of downtown. It is what it is. Looks like they are revamping it a bit though. If you just need a clean place... My daughter and I are staying at the clarion because it is the host hotel for the run hard half marathon. The hotel is very dated, the phone from the 1970's doesn't work, the breakfast isn't included, and the elevator feels like you are going to fall through the floor. The beds were comfortable, the water pressure non existent, and... More

Hotel is in the process of being torn down and looks to be switching over to another company. Big sign out front says "Future home of Hilton Garden Inn." The main building that is still standing is quite old and in need of major TLC...but I imagine since this place is about to change hands, why would the current owners... More

$144.00 per night for a hotel that is being torn down - that they don't tell you until you see half of it torn down when you get there. The febreeze smell was eye burning overwhelming! I was unable to get a refund because I booked on-line through hotels.com - very disappointed that a company would not publish on their... More

This hotel was very dirty and old. Scuff marks on the walls, very old nasty carpeting, smelly bathroom. They had no room refrigerators. The carpeting is nasty, and the room smelled moldy. Not worth the rate I paid of $129.00. But it was only place with vacancies.

Lobby was dank and musty, room was dirty and aged. The location close to Five Points was convenient for USC activities, but would not choose to return. For a university hotel, acceptable for groups of kids, but many other better quality choices in Columbia.
