Stayed for two nights while attending Family Day and Graduation at Fort Jackson. Hotel was fine, comfortable and clean. We had a very smooth check-in and check-out process. We felt like it was a good value for our money, as we were looking for something "middle of the road" that wasn't too expensive yet would be clean, safe, and comfortable.... more

Front office staff nice.Room was very dirty in all the corners inch thick of dust all around.Plate cover for electic recep cover missing?Wires could be seen. The dressers had holes in them. They were broken at the bottoms and very scratched.I would have expected this from a $39.00 dollar a night room. Not $130.00 a night. more

I stayed at the Wingate Inn for 3 nights will in Columbia for a conference. I must say that the hotel was very nice. The rooms are in the process of being updated. The carpeting is being replaced and the rooms have been painted. Tile work has also been done in the bathrooms. The rooms were very clean and confortable.... more

Nice staff, friendly upon arrival. Pillows extremely uncomfortable, actually too big for your head. Bed comfortable mattress. EXTREMELY close to train tracks, but only heard one train come through during the night, although it sets you on edge, not knowing if another is coming soon. Outdoor pool. And jacuizzi broken, we were very disappointed. Desk said it was to be... more

Avoid this hotel. This reservation was supposed to be for January. I called in to make it directly in early December, for January. I had to ask multiple times to receive a confirmation but didn't get one. Went to check in and the hotel was booked and the original reservation was made for December. They blamed me and charged the... more

This hotel appeared to be the best in the area. However, I found the property to be under-maintained. The first room I was in had a broken HVAC unit (below freezing outside, heat was necessary). The second room was OK, but the clock was broken. Rooms definitely need an upgrade. The breakfast was free, but I got what I paid... more

When I first saw the room, I knew I was in trouble. There was blue electrical tape holding the tile down on the bathroom floor. There was also blue electrical tape holding the wallpaper together in the hallway on the second floor. The room was clean but tacky. I paid $131.39 to spend one night in the hotel and was... more

I stayed for 3 nights in September of 2007. The room was large and clean, and the bed was comfortable. The room also had a refrigerator and microwave. The free breakfast was adequate. There are many good restaruants and stores located nearby. Access to downtown is convenient too, 10 miles and 20 minutes away. This is a good place to... more

I am currently staying at the Wingate Northeast and while it's not full-service or thoroughly modern, it is clean and I feel safe. The front desk staff is courteous and helpful. There are some water stains on the carpet but there was absolutely no smell in my non-smoking room. The bed is comfortable. The hotel is located near several good... more

We loved our stay here. It's clearly a limited service hotel -- no bellhops, no bar or gift shop or restaurant. But the rooms were very spacious, comfortable, nicely furnished. The mini fridge and microwave were a nice plus; there's a convenience store right next door and we stocked up on sodas and snacks. Hotel staff members are very pleasant... more
