We stayed at this hotel for three nights in November. The location in the historic district is convenient and within walking distance to most attractions. The rooms are somewhat small but well furnished and comfortable. The included breakfast was more than adequate for our needs with a good selection of cold items and a couple of hot casseroles. The staff... More

I have stayed at the Indigo many times, in fact too many to recall. The staff is always friendly and the rooms are always on point. I will not stay any where else, except for this place. The courtyard is a great escape in the summer afternoons to sit and have a glass of wine and enjoy a favorite book... More

Loved complementary wine and cheese in am and included breakfast in the am including egg based casserole and bread pudding, fresh fruit, yogurt, etc. Close to the market and many great attractions. Very competively priced. Owner/staff are polite and welcoming.

Worst experience in a hotel ever. To say nothing of the dirty rooms or staff that would rather be any place but this hotel, this hotel is a death trap. Literally. The hotel locks you in at 11 pm. Nobody can leave without getting permission from the front desk, who has to press a buzzer to unlock the door. They... More

Thank you for your feedback, gregmfisher. Although we value your comments, we feel that your criticisms are unwarranted on several counts. 1) In reference to the dirty room: upon your arrival, Front Desk staff showed you the room, which met with your approval. 2) Most Trip Advisor reviewers have high kudos for our employees' service, and hold them in high... Conveniently located in the heart of historic downtown Charleston, this was a perfect fit for my husband & my first visit to the area as most places we wanted to see were within an easy walking distance. The quaint inn is situated off an old cobblestone lane and built around a lovely garden courtyard with abundant gathering spots for sitting... More

My wife and I stayed here for an extended weekend following Thanksgiving. I searched about a dozen hotels both in the historic area and just on the other side of the Ashley River and the Indigo Inn had the best overall value in terms of location and price. Very pleased with my decision. The hotel has character (love the inner... More

My friend and I spent 5 days in Charleston to celebrate our 60th birthdays and stayed at the Indigo Inn based on the ratings in Trip Advisor. It doesn't look like much on the outside but the rooms and center garden/courtyard were just lovely. We had a room with 2 queen beds, which included a little set of steps because... More

We loved staying there. The lobby is cozy and welcoming. The complimentary breakfasts and evening wine and cheese were very nice and much more than we expected. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful - even the maids. Our room was very nice and very clean. The location was wonderful for our first trip to Charleston. We walked... More

This is our second visit to the Indigo Inn, the first being 11 years ago! We were just as pleased this time as then. Reception is friendly and helpful with suggestions of activities, restaurants, and making reservations. This was a last minute reservation and a single queen with sofa room was available. Not large, but enough room for a quick... More
