All the rooms in this 3 story inn look out into central courtyard with lovely plantings, fountains, and tables/chairs. This area is where one brings buffet breakfast to eat, and enjoy cocktail hour (with munchies) every evening. A civilized place to start the day, or wind it down. The rooms (not huge) are nicely appointed in period style, have plenty... more

The rooms are well appointed, the courtyard is peaceful and charming. Wine in the evening, breakfast in the a.m. and the best host in the hotel business. Ignacious will take care of all your needs with grace and efficiency - the whole staff are terrific. The location is right off Meeting St., near shops, restaurants and the college. Reasonably priced... more

The Indigo Inn was a great spot for touring around the heart of Charleston. The room with 2 queens is a little tight on space, but nice. Great thing is the service, and the food and drink extras each day. Breakfast buffet had great fresh fruit, bagels, and some warm biscuits with ham or sausage, plus pastries, etc. Wine and... more

If you are looking for a great room, great location, extremely helpful and friendly staff.. the Indigo Inn is for you. So quiet, overlooking the lovely garden court which was a perfect spot for breakfast and the free cocktail hour. Ask any question at the desk about the city, destination, etc. and the answers were extremely helpful from any of... more

Visited Charleston with a friend for two nights, and wanted to be in walking distance of most of the sightseeing we wanted to do. The $10 a day for parking here, was well worth it. We were only 1 1/2 block from the Market, and more shops and restaurants than we could possibly see in our 2 days. The staff... more

Friends recommended the Jasmine House but since they were full, we stayed at Indigo Inn, their sister property. The room needed updating, the carpet was dirty, and the heat was sweltering (way above a normal summer temp) anywhere but in your room or the lobby. Breakfast was simply ordinary, something like you would get at a Quality Inn or ??... more

We just got back from a weekend in Charleston. The location was great. You are a couple of blocks from Market Street and one block from King Street. We walked to every restaurant and to every shopping area. We never once got in the car until we left to come home. The Indigo Inn is not a 5 star hotel,... more

I didn't really enjoy my stay here. Yep the room was clean and comfortable (oldy woldy furniture - I prefer crisp and contemporary), but I thought the free cheese and wine and breakfast in the courtyard would have a bit of buzz about it and be a bit more sociable. Most of the clientele seemed a bit oder and more... more

My husband and I just returned from a 5 day stay at the Indigo Inn and loved it. We booked after reading reviews on this site but were still a little hesitant since it was sight unseen. I have given it 5 star ratings across the board. From the friendly staff, the charming lobby, the very clean rooms with comfortable... more

A friend and I stayed at the Indigo Inn July 3 and 4. It was fantastic. The rates were reasonable for downtown Charleston, and the hotel is right between shopping/ding/bar areas. Very convenient. We had cozy beds and towels and the room was very clean. We even had turndown service :) The staff were all very helpful as well. The... more
