The stay here was quite pleasant. It is an older property however very well kept. Valet, front desk, bartender, pretty much everyone was great! The breakfast was awesome. The rooms are dated but very clean. I enjoyed the historical feel and will stay again while working in Charleston. Thanks for a great stay!

The hotel exterior and lobby were beautiful, however when you step into the room, it looked like a college dorm room (everything was dark green - the carpet, the sofa, the chairs, the drapery) and the the tables were very worn down and torn up. The artwork on the walls was so out of place also. The tub in the... More

This hotel has a lot of character. The room was spacious and the beds were great. Complimentary breakfast is one of the best Ive had with any hotel chain. Not cereal and muffins but a full breakfast service. The evening complimentary cocktail service is nice as well. Only issue is lack of parking but the staff handled it like pros.

Our family has stayed here several times and will continue to do so when in Charleston! Great location, beautiful hotel, great amenities! It is near the Visitors Center and right beside Francis Marion Park (site of the Charleston Farmers Market).

I am a Hilton regular. I go out of my way to stay in the Hilton brand. This has a lot of historical significance, but the rooms are old, and they aren't up to typical Embassy that I stay at. Finally, staff wasn't helpful and friendly. The big issue is king beds are only on the second floor, you can... More

I have been coming to Charleston for quite sometime for business. I have been a Marriott and Hilton guy. But this property was never on my authorized list. Well, I finally stayed here. First the highlights. Staff very nice and professional. It's very nice to stroll around the property and take in the architecture. Very clean for an older property.... More

The Embassy Suites in the Historic Section of Charleston is the perfect location for dining, shopping and seeing Charleston. The free trolley system is a half-block away, and from there you can get to ALL of Charleston. King Street shopping is a block away. The hotel staff are friendly and knowledgeable - take full advantage of their suggestions.

Unfortunately we only had a one night stay, but this location is great for Charleston downtown. The hotel is the original Citadel so you can see bits of history throughout the building - gun emplacements, etc. Beds were quite comfortable and our adult son said the sofa bed was pretty good also. We did not know about the free cocktail... More
