We found the Ansonborough Inn on our third trip to Charleston. The experience was wonderful. Super friendly staff, large rooms and a just one block off the main street made this a perfect choice. There is a wine and cheese in the afternoon and a very generous breakfast assortment included in the price of a room. We were staying with... More

We loved the uniqueness of the Ansonborough vs. typical hotel room. We enjoyed the extra space for golf clubs and luggage without taking over the room. Location was great and much nicer area to be located in vs. area to the north. The rooftop was a pleasant stop at the end of the afternoon to enjoy wine and cheese snack... More

If you want a strategic location to tour historic Charleston, then stay at this restored historic warehouse! For our first to visit Charleston (definitely not the last) we wanted to stay in the historic district. What a gem we found! Our room was huge, quiet, comfortable, and well furnished. We stayed in a double decker room which was great to... More

This hotel has wonderful architecture and looks great on the inside if you like dark wood and brick. But the hotel has no sound insulation from the outside road noise. There is a loading dock for a very busy grocery store directly across the street on the west side and they begin unloading early in the morning. There is also... More

Thank you for taking the time to review us on TripAdvisor. I am glad to hear that you appreciated the architecture and appearance of the Ansonborough Inn. SInce we were nearly sold out on the night of your reservation, the only rooms available were East Bay Studio rooms, which do sit directly on East Bay Street. We are located in... More

We stayed for 3 nights on the advice of family members. Couldn't have been more pleased with the hotel itself -- charming and comfortable! Location was perfect. We walked to all corners of historic Charleston plus strolled to dinner every night. Quiet location yet close to everything. Loved the daily wine and cheese and the lovely rooftop terrace. Will definitely... More

We stayed two nights during a business trip. Although located at a front corner on the first floor, our room was quiet. It was also large and comfortably furnished. But, closet space for hanging clothes was limited. The staff was friendly and efficient. When we had a little trouble with the room safe, the manager was there immediately and fixed... More

I escorted a group of women to Charleston during the Festival of House and Gardens tour in April. From the initial call with Carrie at the Inn, I knew I had discovered a gem. We checked in to a warm greeting from Carrie and her staff, and were handed our keys immediately. Our rooms pleased everybody in the group, as... More

My wife and I stayed for three nights. Inn was very nice. Suites on third floor very spacious and nice. Lots of art on all walls. Breakfast was just enough. Same items every morning plus one extra. Really enjoyed the 5-6 wine and cheese every night. Walking distance to everything. I would stay again.

The location was killer. We stayed in the Admiral room which was first class. The wine and Cheese happy hour was really nice, we took our plates to the rooftop area and watched the sun set and looked at the harbor. The pimento cheese was really good. The staff were great with a friendly attitude. Walking distance to the market... More

We have stayed at other B & Bs and inns in Charleston on previous visits, but this time wanted something a little different from the typical Charleston house. We were very pleased. All of our requirements (interesting building, great location, and comfortable room) were met or exceeded. I had booked a king studio suite because I wanted a room with... More
