Conveniently located in the up and coming area above Calhoun Street, the Cannonboro Inn was charming, clean, and friendly. It was a pleasure to stay in the one-of-a-kind homey and historic house rather than a hotel. We really appreciated the little extras like wine and snacks in the evening and the use of bikes during the day (no charge) which... More

At the last minute we booked a weekend getaway for New Years and got the last available room. While the room was quite small, the furniture was well suited to the space. It truly was cozy and perfectly comfortable for two. The Inn was within an easy walk and very quick drive of downtown and it was located in a... More

My wife and I stayed over the New Years Holiday and really enjoyed our stay. If the weather is pretty (and it was) it's only a 20 minute walk to the shops and restaurants downtown. The inn itself is beautiful and we really enjoyed sipping wine on the balcony. The breakfast was excellent and the wine/snacks that were laid out... More

We were excited to stay at an historic B and B during a work trip I was on in Charleston, however the Cannonboro Inn seemed like a place run by teenagers whose parents were out of town. When we got there the manager brought us to our room and then stood there as if we should tip her for guiding... More

I am sorry your experience here warranted this review. No matter who checks someone in we would never expect payment for anything. The fact that you are comparing me to a red roof inn is absolutely insulting. We take great pride in our cooking ability being that all of our innkeepers have culinary degrees or many years of experience. I... More

I had a lovely stay in this beautiful historic home. I stayed in the small, double room on the top floor which was well appointed and beautifully decorated. The room, being on the top floor was a little warmer than my taste but there was a fan located in my closet to use which made the temperature comfortable. Breakfast was... More

It was a short but sweet stay! Sorry about the toothpaste but we have it now! I did however offer to get you some and you declined. Hopefully when back to our beautiful city we can visit again! Happy Holidays! More

Great experience in a historic, downtown B&B. Wonderful for those seeking a stay in a family-oriented, welcoming, historic home. I have stayed here twice and enjoyed it immensely each time. Relaxing, beautiful rooms loaded with historically charming decor. Complimentary breakfasts, coffee/tea all day, and desserts/wine in the evening. I enjoyed the location as it wasn't right on King & Calhoun... More

My friend and I recently stayed at the inn on a girl's trip to Charleston. While the Inn was very pretty, there were several things that were a disappointment. First, the parking was a nightmare. While I appreciate the fact they had a private lot, it was very small and a real challenge if other cars were parked there. Our... More

I apologize for the light bulbs, sometimes simple things get overlooked by the staff, especially if it is not brought to our attention. Had that been the case we would have replaced them immediately. After reading this I went up to room 3 and sat on the twin bed and I am sorry it is stable and comfortable. Yes the... More

really nice B&B. antebellum home, built in 1853, well preserved. location not particularly spectacular, however our plan was to use this as a base and walk to the historic district. it's a small area, so walking was not an issue, although I would not recommend walking around this area after dark. maybe it's not dangerous, but as a non local,... Location is fine, house is very nice, staff and owner are pleasant and knowledgeable. That said, the rooms along Ashley are quite loud at night - bring ear plugs. My wife and I are vegetarian & vegan, respectively, and that seemed to present problems. Tiny shower/toilet room (although it was quite clean and everything worked). Had to leave early in... More

I apologize about the breakfast, but typically for early checkouts we provide muffins and yogurt, both of which you didn't eat being a vegan. The coffee pot is always ready for guests to turn on if they are up before 7 am for we arrive shortly after. It is disappointing to see there was a lack of communication on our... More

My history obsessed (currently the Revolutionary War) 17 year old daughter decided a trip to Charleston was in order. I told her fine if she made all the arrangements. After much research she booked a 2 night stay at the Cannonboro and what a wonderful choice! The inn is beautiful. We had a first floor room facing Ashley Street. The... More
