We completely agree with what appears to be a consensus among reviewers - this is a comfortable appealing and hospitable B&B, with great breakfasts. True, it is about a 25 minute walk to downtown, but staying here you are not paying downtown prices. We enjoyed the regular walk there and back through quiet residential streets. We stayed 2 nights in... More

Although this B&B has some charm and the welcoming is nice, the bedroom lacks the comfort expected when once pay $ 250/ night. The bathroom is totally obsolete and deteriorated, the sink is inside bedroom. The bed is absolutely terrible and uncomfortable for someone with back problems. It is a total disappointment but for the lady who greeted us. This... More

Dear Dominque S We regret that you were dissatisfied with your stay with us but I did want to respond to the issues you raised. Please understand that all of our rooms are furnished to the same period of it’s building (1853) and are a mixture of reproductions and antiques. All of the rooms feature the creature comforts of today... More

We stayed at the Cannonboro with friends with whom we travel to a different US city each year (this was year 15). Our flight was delayed & Alana kindly waited for us, and was delightful, as were the other staff. Our room was well appointed (although the bathroom could use an upgrade). Love the wrap-around verandah for dining and visiting.... More

My husband and I have been to Charleston 3x and stayed at the Cannonboro Inn all times because we LOVE IT! The staff is friendly, the rooms are cute and clean, and the breakfast is AMAZING!!! The location is within walking distance of everything. We simply park our car for our time there and walk to downtown. If you go... More

My fiancé and I had the pleasure of staying at the Cannoboro Inn for two nights in September 2014. The inn was extremely charming. Equally charming was Lynn--we really appreciated Lynn’s local recommendations and her wonderful hospitality. We utilized the bikes that are available to Cannonboro and Ashley Inn guests--we likely would have rented bikes, so this added to the... More

Where to start? The Cannonboro Inn exceeded our expectations in all respects - location, quaintness, value, and our room (cleanliness, style, etc.). Most importantly, the staff (Barry, Lynn, etc.) made our trip for us. In addition to the gourmet breakfasts and afternoon wine, cheese, etc., their assistance in giving us a personalized feel for the history of the Inn, the... More

We traveled to Charleston from Iowa for a wedding and chose the Cannonboro Inn. Our room was very nice and quiet. Breakfasts were great! Barry the owner, was very knowledgable and his staff was so helpful too! One of the girls gathered up beach towels and blanket for us to use at the beach! Thank you!

We stayed for two nights last week (April 2015) and found the Inn very much like the history and other architecture of Charleston. Like it's price, it is not lavish or very fine (like the $350/night inns) but you definitely experience the charm of Charleston. Be sure to stay in the Inn (vs. the Guest House) so you can enjoy... The Cannonboro is a beautiful old building in superb condition which offers every comfort. We stayed in room 4 which had plenty of room and all the facilities one could want, and all in a traditional setting. It is very quiet and had a balcony to sit out on. Car parking is a bonus and everything is in a walkable... More
