I stayed at the hotel for business during early May. The hotel is in a fantastic location, just 2 blocks from the waterfront and on a sidestreet from one of the main venues. There are multiple options for food and drink. The staff at the hotel is exceptional. They are both friendly and helpful. I arrived around 11 on the... More

My wife and I stayed here in May 2013 and were very satisfied with our room, the hotel's services, the breakfast, the afternoon wine/cheese and evening sherry was a nice touch. The hotel is conveniently located minutes from excellent restaurants, the old section of town and around the corner from the free trolly service. I would have given five stars... More

My family traveled to Charleston on the way back from Florida, and this hotel was a perfect place to stay. Charleston can be rather expensive, so we felt that the price we paid here and the location were fairly reasonable, all things considered. The location is well within walking distance of a number of downtown not-to-be-missed sites, including the Market,... More

Spent Memorial Day weekend here and really enjoyed the hotel. The rooms are nicely appointed. Excellent service staff. Good breakfast. Nice to have breakfast, wine and cheese, and nightcap of sherry available in common area. Great to connect with other guests. Perfect location for walking Charleston.

This location is within walking distance to almost any site you want to visit in historic Charleston. The inn offers not only breakfast in a lovely room, but wine and cheese prior to the dinner hour and sherry in the evening. The city itself makes visitor parking inconvenient, but parking next door to the inn is easy (for a reasonable... More

As implied in the title, you could not find a more convenient location to stay in Charleston. Having said that, the place itself is old ('historic'), and quite dark inside, in both our suite, and in the public spaces. The food was OK. Continental breakfast was adequate (cereals, toast, bagels, juice, hot beverages, yogurt, fruit, but nothing unique or special),... More

Zero stars. Upon arrival I found the rooms small and dark with no useful place to set up my computer. I was in Charleston for two days and importantly needed to work in my room. I asked to cancel the reservation and move to a more appropriate hotel down the street. The manager refused and said that they had a... More

There is no shortage of fine historic hotels in Charleston and this is certainly one of them. It's loaded with character and "feels" like a step back in another time. Having said that, it's also has a few quirks you must expect of a building that's a few hundred years old. Yes, there's a slightly musty aged smell to it,... More

the Anchorage Inn has a perfect location and the front-desk staff was friendly and helpful. we slept very soundly in the super quiet back room suite. the Inn was clean, well-kept, and in a pleasant touch, the free Wi-Fi conveniently worked best in the library where sherry was available in the evening. the breakfast was a disappointment, though, since we... We stayed in the Anchorage Inn as part of a trip up the east coast of the USA and were not disappointed! We booked it as it had reasonable reviews and was significantly cheaper than other hotels in the vicinity. First impression as you enter is that the decor is a beautiful darkwood and the check in girl was friendly.... More
