We couldn't imagine a better place to stay in Charleston. From the very first contact, we knew this would be a most memorable stay. Jack and Annelise Simmons are wonderful hosts. Before we even arrived, Jack made sure that we were informed of things to do and especially options for dinner reservations, a must in the amazing array of popular... More

We stayed at Jack and Annelise's beautiful home in March. I can't say enough about their outstanding hospitality. They welcomed us and our daughter with such care. The insider information about streets to walk and places to see and restaurants to eat at is priceless. Cocktail hour on the beautiful porch was a highlight every day. Everybody who worked at... We can't say enough good things about this place. Even if this were a dump, it would be worth staying at for the hospitality alone. Fortunately, it's a charming old house, wonderfully decorated, with wonky slanting floors and a beautiful porch. Even if you're the most antisocial person in the world, you'll be comfortable chatting with the owners over drinks... More

This B&B had wonderful ratings. I really did not want to say anything negative. I wanted to absolutely love it! The location was charming and convenient. Jack and Annalise were most helpful in dining, sightseeing, and transportation information. The rooms, while not elegant, are comfortable and quaint. We just moved from a house built in 1839, so we didn't mind... More

This review took us completely by surprise as these guests were very delightful people and their friends left us one of the nicest missives in our guest book. All were entertained in the charming dining and living rooms for breakfast and during our Charleston social hour. While guests are always welcome to use whatever common areas are available, as we... We spent 2 nights in the Cypress Room in November and it was simply perfect. Jack and Annelisse were so hospitable and made us feel right at home. We really didn't want to leave. The neighborhood is quiet and perfect to get a feel of historic Charleston and is within easy walking distance of the battery. I have already recommended... More

We spent four nights at the Phillips-Yates-Snowden house during our recent trip to Charleston, and we were sad to leave. Not only did we fall in love with beautiful historic Charleston, we fell in love with Jack and Annelise, their friends and their pets as well! Jack and Annelise are both very gracious and welcoming, and their love and knowledge... More

We completely enjoyed our quiet four-night stay in the Rose Room, a lovely room with plenty of space, light and a large bathroom. But more than that, we enjoyed Charleston because of the hospitality, recommendations, healthy warm breakfasts and delightful social hour offered by our hosts, Jack and Annelise. Although we had a car, we kept it in the driveway... More

Jack and Annelise greet you as welcome guests, but you will leave feeling like friends. We stayed in the charming Carriage House, which was very clean, comfortable and quiet. The location of their home is perfect! From the social hour where we relaxed and chatted with them and other guests, to the delicious breakfasts and company of their well-behaved pets... More

My wife and I stayed here two nights in the Cypress room which is a spacious room with a extremely comfy king sized bed and large bathroom. It has its own entry off the street. The free parking is an added bonus. Jack and Annalise are wonderful hosts and their Charleston Happy Hour is not to be missed as you... More
