We spent four wonderful nights while celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary in May. We travel often and I can honestly say Zero George is amazing!! Elegant, sophisticated, and convenient. Our room was lovely and very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the delicious breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese. If you want to experience quiet elegance in Charleston book your stay at... Zero George named for its address on George street is a superior acookodation in the old style but updated and with amazing friendly and competent staffing. They go out of their way to make both the stay and your visit to Charleston superb. Food is great for breakfast included, the wine hour is fun and allows a relaxing sharing of... More

We stayed in the Cooper building and were not subject to the noise which other reviewers seemed to experience. The architecture (amazingly preserved) and design (sophisticated, comfortable) were probably the best of any hotel we have stayed at. I'm a designer and my hubby does architectural restoration work so we really appreciate imperfections and character in the architecture. At the... More

.......except for the bathroom. Why don't wonderful hotels have a woman consult on the bathrooms? There is no place to put your bathroom products or places to hang your towels. And I really don't care for hotels who try to cut costs by placing bottles, secured to the walls, of shampoo, conditioner and liquid soap. Come on. Give me a... More

NantucketJoe, thank you for choosing Zero George for your Charleston experience. Happy to hear that you found the hotel to be lovely and wonderful! Regarding our shower amenities, we do have the bottles of Malin & Goetz secured to the wall. Interestingly enough, the bottles were put in place based on prior guest feedback! Regardless, we do supply bar soap... More

For his first trip to Charleston (not mine), also first trip down South, my best friend found the Zero George and insisted that we stay there. Well, he was right to do so! The hotel staff and the restaurant staff were amazing - accommodating and friendly, they went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything... More

When you 1st enter your room and there are earplugs on the bed, you know you're in trouble. Lovely setting, nice breakfast, lovely veranda, but the noise level from street almost made it impossible to sleep. If you cannot get a quiet room, go elsewhere. For this kind of money you should sleep like a baby.

Jordsydmia, thank you for your review. Glad that you found the hotel to be lovely, with a nice breakfast. However, so sorry to hear about the noise keeping you from sleeping well. We want everyone to feel relaxed, re-energized and great about their stay. Generally people sleep well in that room however based on the circumstances of what's happening in... More

The title pretty much summarizes our experience. I usually sleep well in hotels and thought this one would be no exception when I got a look at the room. Very pretty and LOOKED comfortable. Alas, the noise level on every one of the three nights was intolerable. And the white noise machine almost made it worse, because when the noise... More

EG, thank you for staying at Zero George and for sharing your thoughts. I'm happy to hear that you felt the hotel was pretty and that it looked comfortable. I'm disappointed however that over all the experience was not what you were expecting. Even one unhappy guest is one too many in our opinion. We are a city center hotel... More

Wow! Walk in to the reception and there's an open kitchen right there...it's crazy but so impressive. The food they create is like watching a piece of art evolve. The staff are so warm and welcoming...and gorgeous. They just couldn't do enough to help us and immediately offered bubbles and a delicious cheese plate on the house. Our room was... More

I almost don't want to write this - to keep 0 secret. This boutique hotel is very comfortable, the service was outstanding, and was far better than staying in some giant chain hotel. It was our honeymoon, and we decided to take our 2 kids at the last minute. The kids loved it. My favorite parts are the reading rooms,... More

Wow where do I start. This was our first trip to Charleston and to Zero George Street. My wife and I were there celebrating our 26th wedding anniversary. After much research and review reading we finally decided on Zero George Street. We could not have made a better choice. As soon as we walked through the door to check in... More
