My husband and I stayed in the Brazil room; This was our second stay at NotSo Hostel so if we came back a second time it must be great, right? ;-) The thing I most love about NotSo Hostel is the friendly staff; I never have a dull conversation; I find that travelers who prefer hostels are usually thoughtful and... Didn't know what to e pet when I first booked this property and was a little worried when I could only book a unisex room as have only stayed in female only ones before but was pretty good and clean. StAff were nice and helpful showing me around when I first arrived. The only downside was when a majority of... More

In a clean, warm and charming environment, my wife and I could appreciate the historical city of Charleston knowing that our return to the hostel at the end of the day meant confort, relaxing and warm welcome back. In a causy athmosphere, it was a real pleasure to staw at the NotSo Hostel.

A great hostel for saying it's the only one in Charleston. Cheap, comfy and nice helpful staff. We weren't there long but Charleston is a really pretty place. We were in the Cyprus room it was nice the beds were quite loud when you move around a lot but comfy and it got quite cold for saying how warm the... More

We stayed at NotSo's Annex location on Cannon street. The location is quite good. It is about 2 min walk to King street where many shops and restaurants are. It is about 30ish min walk to the Charleston City Market and the French Quarter, but it's through King St. which is very interesting, with many shops and cafes, as well... More

Thank you for your review! We are glad you found the annex bathrooms very nice and clean and that the annex more resembled a home. We wash the porch regularly and will be sure to have it deep cleaned so our future guests can enjoy it more thoroughly. More

I stayed in the annex on Cannon Street, which is well located for everything you'd want to do in Charleston. It is in a quiet neighbourhood, but there are numerous bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk (I loved Prohibition) - and the centre of Charleston is about a 20 minute pleasant walk. There was parking behind the building.... More

Thank you for your review, we are glad you found the annex in a good location and close to wonderful amenities. We do have a live in staff member at the annex who cleans daily. We hope that you will try the annex again on your next trip to Charleston, as we have several larger rooms (Kingsolver, Kendall, etc.) that... More

Had a wonderful time at Charleston's NotSo Hostel! Clean, good location, with a friendly staff. Loved my conversations with the international guests. (At 59, I felt very comfortable with the 20-somethings staying there--and, indeed, there were a few older than me!). Can't wait to return!

Me and two of my friends wanted to spend the weekend in Charleston and decided on staying here (college students on a budget) and I'm so glad that we did! I stayed in the Annex location on Cannon Street. It was my first time in Charleston (and America for that matter). I loved the hostel, it couldn't have been more welcoming. Calling it a hostel doesn't really do it justice though - Instead it's a beautiful and big shared house. Location was perfect for me because I like to walk... More

We stayed in the Annex, on Cannon Street. This location is not an attractive neighborhood, but it is convenient to a number of good restaurants and the French Quarter is within walking distance if you are used to walking. Our room had clean sheets, but it hadn't been dusted in a while. When we arrived there was no one to... More
