The staff was very courteous and always had smiles on their faces. But the best part was the concierge floor. Breakfast, tea (from 2-4:00) and fabulous hors d'oevres plus wine and champagne (from 6 - 8:00) were the ultimate along with the staff on this floor. The room was a very nice size as we like larger rooms when we... more

We stayed at the market pavilion the weekend before x-mas and we absolutely loved it! We stayed on the concierge level for a little over $200 a night it was well worth it. The hotel is beautifully furnished you feel like you have stepped back in time which I feel is part of feeling the history of Charleston. The location... more

There was not a natural smile in the place from the beginning. Though traveling alone, the turndown service included robe and slippers for my phantom companion. I wonder if male business travelers get the same? Room service meal was three times more costly than should have been, arrived lukewarm, and at 2 a.m. I woke up sick. At 5 a.m.... more

We were nervous about staying here due to some of the mixed reviews. However, it was wonderful! The room was lovely and impeccably clean. The staff were most accommodating- when my computer wouldn't connect to the internet, they came up with another cable immediately. Same with the safe in the room. The Concierge, Patty, was very helpful and recommended some... more

We wanted a girls' weekend and that is what we got. Everything was wonderful! Service was above and beyond. Food was out of sight. The Concierge level was worth every penny. Anything we needed; we got. I will never stay at another Charleston hotel. This was luxury. They don't have a spa, but they will schedule an appointment for you... more

Upon arriving at the hotel, the doormen were very gracious and friendly. Then we got to the FRONT DESK (Guest Services agents). They have been trained to be rude and indifferent. Had several problems with our rooms (lock on door didn't work). When reported to Guest Services, nothing was said and nothing was done. The maintenance man had to tell... more

As a group of (married) girls just looking to enjoy a long weekend together, we were agast at the treatment we received during our visit to the rooftop bar. The owner as well as other hotel executives, sitting at a nearby table, made overt passes at our table and told us to leave when their advances went unrequited. What we... more

I recently stayed at the Market Pavillion for 4 nights over the Labor Day weekend. We stayed on the hotels concerige floor. The rooms was fantasic, clean, great bed, excellent Hermes amenities and very comfortable bed. Housekeeping did an excellent job each day. The morning breakfast, afternoon tea and evening service in the private lobby was wonderful. We especially enjoyed... more

What can I say, its a great downtown location and a decent, maybe even above average physical building, but the price and lack of warmth bring it down. Some valets are inexperienced and give off a strange vibe. The rooftop pool is TINY. We have stayed in hotels with private plunge pools as large as this hotel pool. A miniscule... more
