basically in the center of the city, but pricing was over the top for the quality. clean rooms, but should have stayed in Mt Pleasant for the cost differential - more than $100 per day more and could have parked in the city for less than $20 per day. Not worth it.

Depending on what is important in a hotel for you but if location is key then you will be in for a treat since it is in the middle of town and within walking to restaurants, Shops and attractions. Top floor have a balcony which is always nice.

I stayed at this hotel for the second time in April and I think it will be my last time. The first visit was at least 2 years earlier and I recall being happy with the facilities and the location. Second time was not a charm. The rooms are desperately in need of refurbishment, smelled vaguely of cigarette smoke (particularly... More

I just wanted to send the good people that work at this hotel some love. They have been through so much these past through weeks with the tragic shooting and the chaos that has ensued. We unknowingly arrived not realizing the location of the hotel and stayed through the President's visit across the street. The staff were so on the... More

Very friendly staff, upgraded to a comfy room with a balcony. Within walking distance of downtown and a nest ,little outdoor pool. Price is right in this beautiful city. Had a great breakfast in the bistro and also a couple of cocktails served by a very friendly hostess who offered much advice on our visit.

Just expected much more from our stay at this location. Good location, can walk or take free trolley to most anything down town. Parking was nearly non existent. Very tight in all areas. Small car would be best. Micro fridge is all that is provided. No microwave & squeaky beds. No breakfast - must buy in the restaurant or eat... More

One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was because of the reviews we read about Kevin and they were all correct he is a great asset to the hotel. We liked the self service laundry facilities there as we had been travelling for a while by the time we got to Charleston. The swimming pool was also a... More

As a Marriott the service was fantastic, rooms cleaned. Definitely lived up to the Marriott standards. However we were considerably disappointed by the location. My husband has a bit of limited mobility at the moment and this hotel was clearly not within the "heart" of the Charleston historic district. No worries though, we hailed a cab down to the district... More

I was staying at the hotel during the AME church shooting. The reason for the poor review is not because of the incident but is for the staffs total lack of communication and thoughtfulness for their guests at the time. It was quite a frightening experience and they were not forthcoming with information at all. For example, we had no... More

This hotel is located within walking distance of most of the attractions. The concierge, Andrea, was phenomonal. She helped us plan a day to cover lots of great sights and spots we wouldn't have found otherwise. The staff at the desk were great as well. I would definitely recomend staying here to anyone who is visiting Charleston.
