The concierge, Kevin McQuade, was fantastic! He gave us many wonderful ideas for our stay and helped steer us away from some activities that we might not have enjoyed. He was able to make several yummy dinner reservations and book us on some unbelievable tours. The hotel is beautiful, right within walking distance of the historic downtown area. I will... More

First time to the area and the location and reviews made my decision. I was very impressed when I arrived. I was not all the way in the door and was laready being greated. The ladies at the front desk gave me ideas for dinner that would deliver and it was great. I loved the decor and the elevator numbers,... More

We stayed here for 3 nights before going on a cruise out of Charleston June of 2010. This was our first trip to Charleston and we were unsure of the best places to visit in the area for such a short stay. The concierge Kevin helped us plan a fun and interesting itinerary. We took his suggestions and did a... More

Felt like a southern version of a Marriott Courtyard. Big porch outside, spacious lobby, meeting areas, restaurant. Location can't be beat. Right downtown, walking distance to the town. Parking right there. Outdoor pool. Very, very nice. More

Dear MsKrisanda, Thank you very much for your kind words. We would definitely agree with the "southern version" of a Courtyard and we like to exude that southern hospitality as well. Our location is a big plus and we are happy that you found that to be awesome! The corner of Calhoun and Meeting street in Charleston is where it... More

Been to Charleston plenty of times over the years and this was probably one of the better hotels to choose when exploring the city. Everything is easy accessable by foot. Park your car and you can walk everywhere, the parking is easy as well which makes it nice if you do need your car for in/out. Didn't have a view... More

My family and I visited Charleston,SC for the weekend. We read the reviews on Tripadvisor and decided to make reservations at this location. We looked for the concierge, Kevin Mc Quade on that Saturday morning. Although he was busy, we waited for our turn and it was worth the wait. Kevin gave us "red carpet treatment". He recommended wthe best... More

My husband and I visited for the weekend and found this hotel to be just perfect for visiting the historic area. The bistro provided a good light meal the night we arrived, too tired to hunt anything else. The room was spacious and secure, with all the necessary amenities. But forget about the room.........the best deal here is with Kevin... More

My wife and I came to Charleston from Connecticut for the weekend without really knowing what to expect. We didn't really have a plan and didn't do a ton of homework in terms of planning sightseeing trips and making restaurant reservations. She frequents Tripadvisor for travel advice, and the comments regarding Kevin McQuade and his very personalized concierge service seemed... More

Let me be the first to say, I am a big fan of the Marriott and all its properties. I travel quite a bit for work and I always try to stay in Marriotts. This particular hotel is in a good location and has a lot going for it - it's right in the historic district, near to the college... More
