The Renaissance is located a block off the beaten path so it is quiet and cozy. Helpful friendly staff, nice lobby bar and the rooms are clean and adequate. Stayed 3 nights for neice's graduation from College of Charleston. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, but at the same time it seemed genuine and not forced (the southern way/charm?). Great location within short walks to King Street, Charleston Market, waterfront, restaraunts, galleries, etc. All in all a wonderful place to stay.

We just got back from two nights at this hotel! The staff and service were phenomenal. No matter what, they were there to take care of your every need. Great location, you can walk to all the interesting venues. The breakfast crab cakes are outrageously good. Very clean hotel with a courteous, knowledgeable staff.
