We stayed at this hotel 4 years ago and had a wonderful experience. We had expectations of another memorable visit....unfortunately....this will be our last visit here. We do appreciate the location.....downtown, within walking distance to all the sights...that is it's only last remaining asset. We checked in at about 4:30pm and the front desk clerk advised us that our room... more

Based on the positive reviews this hotel has received, I think we must have just been very unlucky in the room we were given. It was a two queen room on the fifth floor. Pros: The location is great if you want to visit shops and stroll through Charleston. Starbucks is within walking distance. The staff is friendly and helpful.... more

We were pleased with this 4 star hotel. Pros: Located in the historic district. Walking distance to several great restaurants and shopping. Wonderful, clean rooms with 4star sheets etc. Great conceirge Cons: As in many historic districts, rooms were somewhat small, but the space was great for us. FYI: cab from airport was $30 more

Nothing really stood out....It was an okay hotel. In my opinion, it was far too pricey for what it had to offer...which in my opinion was nothing!!! I wouldn't stay here again!!! If you are going to Charleston I'd recommend you stay somewhere memorable instead of this place. more

This property is in a great location central to great shopping in the Downtown Charleston area. The hotel is clean and the staff friendly. I cannot comment on price because we used points..but I can say that I would pay $200-$300 to stay here. Based on previous visits to other hotels in the area I would say that would be... more

The Renaissance is located in a great location in the heart of Charleston. I visited for a conference, so the easy access to all of the downtown shopping and food was fantastic! The hotel itself has a very friendly staff and a wonderful outside bar/patio. They made great recommendations for restaurants and area attractions. The rooms and hotel in general... more

I have never had a nicer check- in experience at a hotel before. The Valet, Bellman, Front Desk all welcomed us like long lost loved relatives. We got a wonderful military rate of $120 and they still treated us like we were paying much more. Each time we passed the desk they would greet us and spent a great deal... more

This was a very nice stay. My husband and I stayed for a weekend and the location of this hotel can't be beat. Steps away from King St. shopping, Meeting St. and the Market. Hotel itself is above average. King room was rather small, however typical boutique size. Did not eat at the hotel restaurant-we had a very nice dinner... more

Loved the location. Service was excellent. We told them it was our anniversary, and they made certain to bring us a bottle of champagne, and many of the staff wished us a happy anniversary. The room was very nice and had plenty of room with a nice walk out balcony and a view of the courtyard. Breakfast was included in... more

Wonderful hotel property and staff. Location is ideal. Easy walk to all historic, shopping, and dining areas. I called ahead letting them know of my late arrival. Lady on the phone was so friendly that I was excited to arrive! Man who checked us in at 1am was perky and acted as if were a decent hour of the day.... more
