Only stayed here for one night for work but I found the location to be in a nice area and in walking distance of some great restaurants. The front desk staff was helpful even though they were not very friendly. the room was clean and the gym was nice as well. Would definitely stay here again. more

Stayed at the Renaissance May 14th, 2009. We had two rooms 314 and 313. Front desk staff - wonderful Restaurant staff - wonderful Location - wonderful Cleanliness - horrible Our large pillow on the bed (decorative square pillow) had blood all over the cover. Not our blood so obviously the pillow case had not been changed. Top sheet was also... more

I stay at this hotel regularly for business. The rooms are spacious, clean and quiet. The staff are very courteous and a few even remember my name. The location is on the edge of what I consider the historic district but is still convenient to walk almost anywhere. more

I really like this location in this walkable city. It is my favorite Charleston property that is not on the waterfront. Located on a quiet side street of a primary thoroughfare, you can easily stroll to many of the nearby restaraunts and shops. Parking garage is across the street or valet if you choose. Starbucks in the lobby. Rooms have... more

Based on the positive reviews this hotel has received, I think we must have just been very unlucky in the room we were given. It was a two queen room on the fifth floor. Pros: The location is great if you want to visit shops and stroll through Charleston. Starbucks is within walking distance. The staff is friendly and helpful.... more

The Renaissance is located in a great location in the heart of Charleston. I visited for a conference, so the easy access to all of the downtown shopping and food was fantastic! The hotel itself has a very friendly staff and a wonderful outside bar/patio. They made great recommendations for restaurants and area attractions. The rooms and hotel in general... more

The hotel was perfectly nice, with small touches that surprised us: free pre-stamped postcards at check-in, Charleston Chews at the reception desk, free computer and printer for online airline check-in, etc. The hotel has a nice location situated in the block between King St. (shopping) and Meeting St. (main street leading to many restaurants and tourist locations). It's a short... more

I’m fortunate in my line of work to be able to travel a decent amount – mostly in the southeastern U.S. When I booked my stay at the Renaissance Charleston I expected a very nice hotel with exemplary customer service – as has been the case in other Renaissance locations. The bottom line is, the hotel is of high-end Marriott... more

Absolutely wonderful full service hotel but with the boutique feel that is part of the Charleston experience. Room was spotless and beautifully appointed. Staff incredibly helpful. Location allows access to all areas of the lower peninsula on foot. Stayed 2 nights for a real estate related gathering so also experienced hotel's conference and catering efforts both of which were excellent.... more

I went with a business group and stayed a few nights, overall the location is right next to shops, bars and restaurants. The service was good and the price was a little high but we had a group discount to off set that. Also I run a lot and I found if you go a few blocks away from the... more
