This hotel is great. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was clean and we were lucky enough to get a third floor room with a balcony. The pool and exercise facilities were very nice too. The location is perfect. We walked everywhere. I hope we can stay there again next year for our annual visit to Charleston. more

My husband and I had just gotten married and were extremely disappointed with this hotel. First, they didn’t do anything special for our honeymoon like other hotels do, even though we mentioned it was our honeymoon when we made the reservation and again when we checked in. Second, our room had a terrible view of a stone covered landing and... more

My husband decided to use some rewards points to try this hotel. First of all, the redemption process with Marriott was a nightmare. They say one thing and do another. It took three attempts (once while trying to play golf) to get it right. BUT, once we arrived at the hotel, life was good. We were treated to a large... more

An overall nice experience. Grill has good food for all 3 meals with good service. The bar is over priced. The room was nice & clean. Location for what we did could have been better, but OK if you don't mind walking a lot. There are several options for transportation, including a bike taxi at around $4.50 a person. Price... more

I have to disagree with reviewers who like the location of this hotel. Yes, it is 4-5 blocks from the market and fewer from King St., but it is located on a side street that has nothing on it to make people travel it and isn't well lit. I was fearful getting back to the hotel at night. And the... more

I stayed here last year and this year for part of week after Labor Day. It's a nice property with great location for downtown Charleston. The rooms are pleasant and updated. But this trip, especially, the overall service was horrible. 1) the Ethernet cable wasn't working, and the hotel person who brought up a replacement cable made me called the... more

Very pleased with this experience. I've been disappointed by this chain - but this property is a great example of the level of service Renaissance intends to deliver. No they do not have concierge lounge but this is not a big deal. Location: Across the street from Muse, around the corner from fabulous, a few blocks from the Market and... more

Visited this hotel with my family (spouse and 2 teenager boys) August 2-5. We were happy with a good location in the historic district of Charleston. It's a 5-minute walk to the Market st. where all the unique boutiques and nice southern restaurants are located. Room was ok, spacious enough and clean. Beds were comfortable (as always in Marriott). US... more

My husband and I stayed at the Renaissance Charleston with our teenage daughter to take a tour the College of Charleston. When we made the reservations, we requested two double beds. Instead we were given a king size bed. The bellhop called down and we were told the hotel was completely booked. Instead we were given a roll-away bed for... more

We chose this hotel for its location in the heart of Charleston. It didn't disappoint. The hotel is small, more boutique style than typical Renaissance hotels and located smack in the middle of all the great restaurants and sightseeing. There is valet parking which is nice. The hotel is quaint and decorated in reds and florals. Although it seemed to... more
