Based on the positive reviews this hotel has received, I think we must have just been very unlucky in the room we were given. It was a two queen room on the fifth floor. We were pleased with this 4 star hotel. Pros: Located in the historic district. Walking distance to several great restaurants and shopping. Wonderful, clean rooms with 4star sheets etc. Great conceirge Cons: As in many historic districts, rooms were somewhat small, but the space was great for us. FYI: cab from airport was $30 more

Nothing really stood out....It was an okay hotel. In my opinion, it was far too pricey for what it had to offer...which in my opinion was nothing!!! I wouldn't stay here again!!! If you are going to Charleston I'd recommend you stay somewhere memorable instead of this place. more

This property is in a great location central to great shopping in the Downtown Charleston area. The hotel is clean and the staff friendly. The Renaissance is located in a great location in the heart of Charleston. I visited for a conference, so the easy access to all of the downtown shopping and food was fantastic! I have never had a nicer check- in experience at a hotel before. The Valet, Bellman, Front Desk all welcomed us like long lost loved relatives. We got a wonderful military rate of $120 and they still treated us like we were paying much more. Each time we passed the desk they would greet us and spent a great deal... more

Wonderful hotel property and staff. Location is ideal. Easy walk to all historic, shopping, and dining areas. I called ahead letting them know of my late arrival.
