We are Marriott people, so this was the best location we could find for a Marriott property in Charleston. It's actually a great location, and we were within a reasonable walk of most everything. I liked being on the main drag. The hotel was nice enough, though not nice enough to consider it a Renaissance. The service was acceptable, too,... More

This is a great hotel. Value wise, for the price, compared to the other hotels in the area, I think it is the best value. The only negative thing I have to say about it is the front desk lady arguing with us at check out. I had came there from Tampa Florida for my birthday and my sister and... More

This is a very nice hotel with friendly and prompt staff. The location is perfect, walking distance to tons of shops and delicious restaurants (Muse is very good and is right next door) The rooms are cozy and clean but wifi is not free unless you're near the lobby. My only criticism is not about the hotel exactly, but of... More

I picked this hotel primarily for the location and it certainly lived up to its billing in that regard. About a 5 minute walk from the market and easily walkable to everywhere you would want to go in Charleston. Parking is $16/day and is literally right across the street in a public garage. Not sure why anyone would ever pay... More

The hotel is in a great location for visiting the historic district, shopping and dining. One staff member in particular, Mr. Bill, is a great asset to this hotel. He greets everyone with a smile and is eager to help. I look forward to returning to this hotel.

This is a very nice modern hotel found in downtown Charleston. It is close to the market, and many good restaurants, and closer still to King Street, the Charleston shopping district. We were greeted by Charles, the bellman/valet/concierge. He is a wealth of information. Check-in was quick, and our room was very nice. We had a window, which looked out... More

What a wonderful experience at this hotel...from the moment we checked in until the checkout. We were greater by Tamika at the front desk. The Renaissance has a real jewel of an employee in her. She treated me last year when I stayed there and she made me feel like part of the family. The breakfast food was great as... More

After previous visits where we stayed outside the historic district, I felt it was time to treat myself. I was familiar with this location, and knew it was good. In one direction, there is King St, with lots of shops and restaurants. We lucked out and were here for second Sunday, which is when they close King St and have... More

Friendly and attentive staff. Great location between King and Meeting street. Great shopping and dining options near by. The room was a little small but nice. Great beds. One of the best "chain hotel" options in Charleston. I used Marriott points as the weekend was busy and all rooms were pricey. Enjoyed our stay in this great American city.

This was my second stay at the Renaissance in Historic Charleston and once again, this was a wonderful stay. Check in/out was fast, employees were welcoming & friendly. Rooms are spacious & nicely decorated. Beds are extremely comfortable & linens are high quality. The location is just steps away from shopping & dining.
