This hotel checks the boxes--- great location, walking distance, pool, attentive staff, bar/restaurant. The check-in process was fast and easy but the rooms leave something to be desired. Upon entering the room the McDonald's colors of yellow and red were off putting to say the least. The rooms really need a paint job and refurb to get out of the... More

I stayed here for three nights (was going to be four). The hotel is nice, but not quite the 5-star hotel I saw as advertised. Rooms were nice; staff was nice; all were helpful. Maybe its part of that throw back to the 19th century? I'm not sure why they advertised some of the highest prices I've ever seen. But... More

This hotel is in a great location and the rooms are comfortable. The only problem is that while in our room we could hear people in the next room and people in the hall. The hotel is very nice, but if you need it really quiet to sleep, this may not be the place for you.

Thank you very much for your feedback. Our guests continue to be more and more excited about the time they're spending in Charleston so we're taking steps to ensure that the late night enthusiasm of some of guests is not negatively impacting the experience of those dreaming about their favorite "Holy City" discoveries. We have options for our "night owl"... More

The hotel was in a great location to everything in town. The hotel was very clean and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommend! We had adjoining rooms with our son and his family, very child friendly. I would stay at this property again.

Thank you very much for your review. My kids love living in Charleston so I enjoy nothing more than hearing that we've helped other families enjoy their visit to the "Holy City." I hope your kids were able to enjoy their complimentary "Family Discovery Kits" which we created to help our youngest guests love their Charleston experience. Thank you again... More

I have stayed here twice for multiple days. The staff is always very nice, Valet is very fast and efficient, and breakfast is great. The hotel is less than a block from the shops and easy walking distance to my favorite restaurants. One can't go wrong in Charleston with this hotel.

When I arrived it was pretty early (10am or so) and my room wasn't ready yet. I sat in the lobby and answered some emails for about half an hour and they called me to get my room. The lobby staff were very friendly and courteous. One lady even remembered me and would greet me by name every time she... More

My wife and I experienced a weekend stay in the Renaissance Charleston in early August. Our room with a king sized bed was very nice, spacious and comfortable. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Complimentary beverages/snacks in the lobby add a nice touch. The location is good. Not in the heart of the Historic District, but certainly close enough to... More

Thank you very much for your review. It sounds as if you enjoyed either our Wednesday Winedown or Foodie Friday complimentary evening manager receptions. Or maybe it was the Saturday afternoon complimentary "intriguing trail mix" which we created to give our guests a boost of energy to help everyone find another incredible discovery while strolling the streets of the "Holy... Just completed a one night stay at this Marriott property. Fantastic location, easy walking distance to most attractions, shopping and just a slew of fantastic restaurants nearby! All employees (front desk, bar, valet, waitress, housekeeping) we encountered during our brief stay were very friendly, courteous and helpful. Only complaint was that we were placed in room 334, directly across from... More

I was coming to visit the college of charleston with my mother so we decided to stay at this hotel. It was a very big mistake, the service is very poor we requested an early check in (so we could make our 2 oclock college tour) but we were not given out room until 330 therefore missing the tour. Then... More

My mom & I recently stayed at the Renaissance Hotel in Historic Charleston. Check-in & check-out was quick & smooth. Our room was extremely clean, updated, well maintained & it overlooked the rooftop deck/pool area. Our room also had a small fridge which was great since it was very hot & humid. The location of the hotel is within walking... More
