You could not ask for more from a hotel anywhere and this one is excellent for the best way to experience Charleston. The front desk upgraded us although we arrived early so we had lunch and returned to a nice room with a balcony. Be sure and see Susie across from the front desk to know all the perfect things... This is my Fifth visit to Charleston and my first stay at the Renaissance. We stayed here bc we had "points" . We were upgraded to a balcony room. Don't waste your money as the balcony overlooked the parking lot. The room was small as was the bathroom. No ventilation in the bath... And no vanity mirror. Hubby had diff... More

Stay started off shaky as we arrived at 1530 and had to wait 45 minutes for the room. Stayed in a suite which was very nice. No view but that is because of where hotel sits. The best Car Valet I have seen tall young man last name Campbell. Helped us parking, with directions, getting a cab, and arranging a... More

This was our first visit to Charleston, SC and the Renaissance did not disappoint. Our room was clean and large and I just loved the couches and other seating area. My husband and I both really enjoyed the fitness studio and the pool (the pool is quite small and can only accommodate 9 people). I appreciated that the pool had... More

I came to Charleston for the first time on a summer weekend trip. This was the PERFECT place to stay. The location was ideal. Very close to the market and restaurants. We just walked to everything. I can't say enough good things about the hotel. The staff was friendly. They really made everything easy for us. The amenities we received... More

We ended up here by accident, having been moved here from another hotel who couldn't satisfy our booking. The staff welcomed us and treated us like important guests. We were only supposed to stay one night, but they wanted to earn our business and made it easy just to stay the second night. Tyler in particular was friendly and welcoming.... More

Charleston really knows how to do Christmas! Everything is within walking distance - shopping, food, outdoor market, a Christmas movie in the snow, and a horse drawn carriage ride in the moonlight! The room accommodations were perfect for our trip. We felt like we were the only guests in the hotel!!! A few minutes away we were able to walk... More

This hotel checks the boxes--- great location, walking distance, pool, attentive staff, bar/restaurant. The check-in process was fast and easy but the rooms leave something to be desired. Upon entering the room the McDonald's colors of yellow and red were off putting to say the least. The rooms really need a paint job and refurb to get out of the... More

Thank you very much for your feedback. With a user name like, "stayeatshop", I feel that the Renaissance Charleston must've felt like the perfect choice for you given the hotel's location in the middle of the best places to sip, savor, and shop in the historic district. I noticed that you utilized the term, "the devil is in the details",... More

I stayed here for three nights (was going to be four). The hotel is nice, but not quite the 5-star hotel I saw as advertised. Rooms were nice; staff was nice; all were helpful. Maybe its part of that throw back to the 19th century? I'm not sure why they advertised some of the highest prices I've ever seen. But... More

This hotel is in a great location and the rooms are comfortable. The only problem is that while in our room we could hear people in the next room and people in the hall. The hotel is very nice, but if you need it really quiet to sleep, this may not be the place for you.

Thank you very much for your feedback. Our guests continue to be more and more excited about the time they're spending in Charleston so we're taking steps to ensure that the late night enthusiasm of some of guests is not negatively impacting the experience of those dreaming about their favorite "Holy City" discoveries. We have options for our "night owl"... More
