We went to the park in the evening and saw the Christmas Lights. The staff was amazing, the amenities(winter time) were plentiful. Trains, planes and automobiles all in lights. Hot chocolate, marshmallows, and coffee a plenty. Well worth the price to see the show!

Wow!!! We had such a great time watching the Christmas light display. It was truly magical. The variety of different subjects and lights was really cool. The sound that was broadcast on AM was great too. I can't comment on the campground or anything else about the property, but there was no other place to put this in.

We stopped at the campground on our way to Florida and stayed 2 nights. So many things to do at this park. The walking trails were a lot of fun. Our son liked the rock wall and it looked to be popular with the locals too. The campground itself was easy to get around and the other campers were very... More

We are new to the RV world and had previously chosen RV "resorts" to stay in. However after camping at James Island, it wil be county, state or national sites for us. The surroundings at James Island are unbeatable. The campground is clean, well maintained and beautiful. There are many amenities that make this a desirable site. It is close... More

First time for us to visit this campground and there's plenty to do at the campground. An easy drive to Folly beach. Most of the folks using this campground when we camped there (July 2012) had super sized RVs and were not very friendly when you passed them while walking around. Bathhouses were kept clean and there was plenty of... More

We stayed a full week and found the campground clean and well taken care of. Most of the campers were in super large RVs and most folks stayed inside their campers when they werent out venturing. So we missed the congenial nature we find in campgrounds that have a more diverse clientele - tents, trailers, etc. there wer almost no... More

This was by the far the best campground we have ever camped. We have a travel trailer and the sites are spacious and shaded. The campground is very clean with plenty for a family to do. We loved riding our bikes on the many bike trails, fished at the crabbing dock, played on the playground and splash pad. All this... More

We have stayed here a few times now with a 30' airstream trailer. The sites are spacious, bathrooms are very clean and the location is just perfect. There is so much to do at the park and the staff is very friendly. Highly recommended.

I noticed the first review stated that the park wasn't tent friendly. I think he just missed the huge field where they allow tent camping. there must be 30 sites that back up to a woodland area for a little privacy and shade and there is a small hill or rise at one end so the campsites behind the rise... Like most campgrounds (other than some state parks), this is really a campground for RVs and pop-ups. But you can still work it with a tent, as we did. You just have to deal with the fact that your "pad" is gravel. Other than that, the place is quite nice. There's a nice pond where you could hear lots of... More
