The campground, sites, and bathhouses were all great. It's nestled in a park with tons of stuff to do. Trails in all directions. Dog park that's like a dog island. Looks like even more to do in the summer, but it was late in season during our visit.

We stayed here 2 nights. Campsite was in wooded area - even wild palm trees. Bath houses very clean. Definitely will return. Went to see Festival of Lights. Beautiful. Tip - don't sign up at desk for their ride. It's a 10 person (app) van - 2 seats on each side. Not the best way to view the lights. Better... More

I have to say that their website does not do the campground justice at all. As a matter of fact, when I researched camping in Charleston, SC, I kept passing it over because it looked over priced for what it appeared to not have. With that being said, this was beautiful! Most of the camping spots are spacious and offer... More

Clean campground, friendly staff, lots of sites, and wonderful bike trails. What's not to like! Close and convenient to downtown Charleston. We are making plans for a return trip in 2015. Got a sneak preview of the Festival of Lights on Thursday evening as they were testing the system.

James island is a great campground for the family. The park has a large water park for the kids. Boat rentals for there pond. And a big dog park. They hAve miles of bike trails. Great spot to visit Charleston or some of the local beaches. The prices are reasonable and we will defiantly stay here again.

We came here for the Festival of Lights. We love everything about this campground! Their website lets you look at your site before you arrive and tells you the length and width of it. Take your bikes since they have miles of trails. The weather was warm and we were able to rent paddleboats in November. We don't have a... More

We came across this gem last weekend. Beautiful park. We camped in the primitive area which was covered in grass with very spacious sites and a great price for the area. It's about 15 miles from folly beach which is our favorite. Lots of restaurants close by and a Wal-Mart. I definitely recommend

This place is so beautiful. The lots are semi private, so you dont feel like neighbors can watch you every move. The staff is exceptionally welcoming. The shuttle to downtown Charleston was awesome. We did not take vehicle with us so this amenity was great. It runs at 9 a.m. and pick up at 4 p.m. You could also take... More

You are only a 20 minute easy drive from downtown Charleston. The park is well maintained, private sites, full hookup. This park is SO dog friendly. They have an awesome dog park that includes a little lake/pond for dogs to swim in! The dog park is huge. Dogs can run to their hearts content. The have both a large and... More

We spent 5 nights at this campground in a pop up camper. We had a semi private site. Pad was sand/pebbles. Site #64 backs up to one of the park roads. Quiet times were observed. They have a separate section for primitive camping. The bathhouses are not air conditioned. The primitive section appeared to have an air conditioned bathhouse. The... More
