We have stayed here twice and plan to return many more times. The park is the best we have ever been to so far. There is something to do for everyone. The pool is amazing, rock climbing wall, 3 trails to bike or walk, area for dogs to swim, and area to fish. Downtown Charleston is 15 minutes away with... More

We will definitely return to this campground. It is beautiful and well maintained. We were there the day after Christmas and really enjoyed their holiday light show--it's worth it to stay in the campground just to see the lights! The bike paths are wonderful and I can imagine it would be really fun to stay when the pool is open--looked... More

This is by far, my families all time favorite place to camp. The campground is always very clean and well-kept. There is a host of things to do such as the playground for the children, miles of bike/walking trails, fishing dock, dog park, kayak/paddle boat rentals, water park in the summer, festival of lights and train ride in December. It's... More

We have stayed in a number of campgrounds this holiday season. This was our worst experience. Here is our litany of grievances, some of which we hope the campground can remedy. The bathroom for the tent camping had only one stall, no running water , and would not flush. Seemed like the water was turned off. Two other stalls were... More

Have you been to Oglebay in WV at Christmas? This is similar, but warmer and more to see while out of the car! Shops, climbing wall, marshmallow pit, lights near walkway. Many light displays are personalized to the area. Music! So fun! Near Charleston,SC. Just remember letter of lot where you park!

The campground, sites, and bathhouses were all great. It's nestled in a park with tons of stuff to do. Trails in all directions. Dog park that's like a dog island. Looks like even more to do in the summer, but it was late in season during our visit.

We stayed here 2 nights. Campsite was in wooded area - even wild palm trees. Bath houses very clean. Definitely will return. Went to see Festival of Lights. Beautiful. Tip - don't sign up at desk for their ride. It's a 10 person (app) van - 2 seats on each side. Not the best way to view the lights. Better... More

I have to say that their website does not do the campground justice at all. As a matter of fact, when I researched camping in Charleston, SC, I kept passing it over because it looked over priced for what it appeared to not have. With that being said, this was beautiful! Most of the camping spots are spacious and offer... More

Clean campground, friendly staff, lots of sites, and wonderful bike trails. What's not to like! Close and convenient to downtown Charleston. We are making plans for a return trip in 2015. Got a sneak preview of the Festival of Lights on Thursday evening as they were testing the system.

James island is a great campground for the family. The park has a large water park for the kids. Boat rentals for there pond. And a big dog park. They hAve miles of bike trails. Great spot to visit Charleston or some of the local beaches. The prices are reasonable and we will defiantly stay here again.
