The Governor's House is a beautiful historic inn in Charleston. Conveniently located, it is ideal for walking the historic district. The staff, especially Brian, were very friendly and welcoming. They will provide dinner suggestions and make reservations. The house is a true historic home having been the residence of one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. We spent... More

This is a beautifully restored large home with fine furnishings and attention to detail. The hospitality was very accommodating and eager to help in any way possible. The breakfast was nothing short of spectacular, and the extras such as sherry in one of the rooms and a daily afternoon tea and treats (wine, tea, various pastries) was just wonderful. The... More

You will first be impressed by the beauty of this Inn with it's spacious ceilings, glamorous dining room, and comfy piazza. My husband & I stayed here for five nights in the Magnolia Room, #7. The large staff is very attentive and they truly cared about how we were enjoying their beautiful city. Each morning the breakfast was delicious and... More

We stayed at the lovely Governor's House Inn for our Honeymoon last year after a July 4th Savannah Wedding @ the President Quarters Inn. Having met at our jobs as state employees our theme was a Patriotic one...so where else would we spend our honeymoon but the Governor's House Inn in the Independence Room. The bed was so comfy, two... More

My husband and I stayed in the Independence Room 4 nights in mid-September 2014. We are in our 60's, have done world travels and this Inn provided one of our best experiences. We really enjoyed historic Charleston. The location of the Inn is excellent, we walked to everything, even as far as the Visitor's Center and beyond. Broad St. is... More

The Governor's House Inn is an outstanding B&B in Charleston. Built by Edward Rutledge, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, in 1760, it is beautiful; and let me tell you, the breakfasts are outstanding! You can eat in you room, outside on the porch, or in the dining-room and meet some interesting folks. We had a great... More

The Governors House exceeded my expectations. I thought the location was good. We were about 2 minutes from East Bay Street, 1 block for King Street and a pedi cab ride from north of Calhoun Street. Great to be able to walk out the door and walk the entire Battery. Upon our arrival we were greeted by Storm (his real... More

We came here for a 2 day getaway to explore the city. We wanted to stay in a place that was unique and peaceful, and this place was perfect. The staff were wonderful, and the room was well kept and beautiful. The house cat was even nice, as several times he came up to us and allowed us to pet... More

We stayed in the Barbados suite on the lower level. The room was very large with a comfortable love seat at the foot of the bed. The washroom was great. It had a very large shower and a jetted tub. I especially liked the seating area on the lower level that seemed more private than the really large wrap around... More
