We stayed here over Christmas break 2014 and we loved it! Right in the heart of downtown, its easy walking distance to all the shops, landmarks, restaurants and tourist attractions that make Charleston famous. The owner, Terry, was so kind and helpful, a super friendly guy, and his wife even baked cookies for Christmas for everyone in the common area.... More

My husband and I spent 4 nights at the King George lV Inn. We were in room 3. The hot water was a problem when trying to shower. It was either freezing cold or scalding hot. The inn keepers are aware of the problem but have not been able to solve it. We were given a courtesy for the inconvenience.... More

First, I agree with the previous three reviews and won't repeat too much here. I will reiterate its prime location. I don't think there is a spot in Charleston more central to everything. The parking at the Inn is free and we could easily walk to every thing that matters. It's also a half block from trolley (free) stops. You... More

Debra and Terry run a beautifully well maintained B&B. The Inn is beautiful inside and out and kept sparkling clean! Charlene was a great help and and asset to the KG. Had a great time. It is right in the center of Charlestown and everything is within walking distance. If you prefer the trolly, it is a half block away.... More

This was a Mother-Daughter trip that brought us to Charleston for the first time. From our initial inquiry all the way to our departure our experience was fantastic. Debra and Terry run a beautifully well maintained B&B. The Inn is beautiful inside and out and kept sparkling clean! They are both always available for anything you need and couldn't have... More

We have been coming to the King George IV for years and absolutely love it. We have stayed in about every inn in Charleston and always come back to the KG IV. Fantastic location and accomodations. Conenient to King for dining and shopping, as well as the Market and downtown. Also very easy access to Isle of Palms and Folly... More

My daughter and I stayed at this property and since we love old B&B's we enjoyed our stay. Room 2 was cozy with the usual TV, wireless, etc. I see where another reviewer might have trouble with the sunken bathroom, but I have to say for someone who gets up at least two times in the night, it was well... Great proximity to eating, shopping, and attractions. I had room four. It had a private balcony, private entrance, and sitting area. Then in addition public balcony and additional entrance through common area. Breakfast was cooked everyday, and very tantalizing.

While we knew this was a 200 year old building, we were expecting so much more than we did! Bathroom in room #2 is dangerously located.....having narrow, curving steps down making it a danger for anyone who happens to need it during the night! Room was large and nice......with a second bed in an alcove area.....but only one small bar... More

Just leaving Charleston and want to add how delightful and charming this inn is! Especially the owners and Emily and Charlene! We stayed in Room 5, and especially enjoyed the porch attached to the room. We walked almost everywhere from this central location- restaurants, shopping on King Street, and to the market area! The shower in our room was less... More
