the location of this hotel was ideal. The staff were very, very helpful and friendly. I really must rave about the waitress at the Peninsula Grill. Her name was Cathedra and she treated us like royalty. So pleasant and eager to please us in every way possible. She went out of her way to do little things for us to... more

Just returned from the Planters Inn and would certainly recommend it. We stayed in a lovely suite which included a spacious living room, two queen size four poster beds and two large, marble bathrooms. Great for two ladies...made getting ready for a night out a pleasure. Antiques (and/or reproductions) are nice...remember it is older and may appear dated if you... more

The Planters Inn Charleston is a wonderful hotel. The staff is very helpful and seem to be on top of their game. The hotels' Peninsula Grill restaurant is excellent. This is a great old hotel in a charming historic city. more

My trip was scheduled as business but this hotel turned my visit into the most wonderful experience I have ever had in a hotel. The service was impeccable, the staff is gracious and helptful The bed and pillows were dreamy, the soap was a light lilac scent and non allergenic. Rooms are elegant with 4 poster beds, irons and hair... more

Had a wonderful 2 day visit at Planters Inn Dinner at Peninsula Grill was fabulous in outdoor garden setting, had brie and fruit for breakfast. Who needed eggs and toast? The best for me was the towels, the plushest I have ever seen in any hotel and I travel a lot. Staff is wonderful, friendly, not stuffy I will be... more

Lovely hotel with wonderful staff! Let Bertha at the front desk plan you day and you will be very pleased with her recommendations. Dinner at the Penninsula Grill was outstanding although the restaurant is very formal. Location is great! more

This is a 3-star hotel in a five-star lacation with completely unacceptable room amenities and indifferent (in all senses) service. Not only do the rooms lack the amenities standard in 3-star hotels (coffe-maker, refridgerator, reliable Wi-Fi), but there were three maintenance issues. The housekeeping "service" is typified by the fact that it took the maids three days to find the... more

I would like to personally extend my apologies for the less than perfect experience you had at our property. I appreciate your taking the time to provide feedback on areas we can improve on at The Planter’s Inn. In response, we have taken immediate action to change our public restroom cleaning schedule as well as fine tuning our turn-down schedule....

We enjoyed staying at the Planters Inn because of the location, amenities and service. We felt right at home immediately when greeted by the valet parker. Then, inside, we met Bertha whose friendly disposition, tremendous knowledge of the area and competence gave us the pleasure of putting all the details in her hands. She was a joyful addition to our... more

We recently stayed at the Planters Inn for a short getaway weekend to Charleston. Being new to Charleston, I used a combination of Trip Advisor reviews and recommendations to choose the Planters Inn. We were not disappointed. We had what I'd call a standard room with a king, on the fourth floor. The room was what I'd call average size,... more

We stayed 3 nights at the Planters Inn and can highly recommend it. Our room was spacious, clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast was good but not fantastic. The location is great - one block from King Street and right at the market. The staff was always curtious and helpful. more
